Great Team - Terrible PR

Was at the game yesterday, well done Andy and everyone behind the team, Gavin you are our hero. Saw Paul Harrison there too, he makes his own way to away games, unlike other freeloaders who go on the team coach. I asked about the website and transfer moves for Louis and Garner? I was amazed to hear he doesn't get to know whats happening at the club until everyone else, he is copied in to press releases! How does or can that work? Who is running the PR media side of things? You guessed it...the CEO. Paul seems pretty disillusioned with it all if you ask me, cant say I blame him either, the club and Mr CEO seem to be restricting his options. Bet he leaves us soon. Good job again Mr CEO....

Pauls report from http://www.gravesendandnorthfleet-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=179505

Keep it up Paul ...

Fleet win at Stanley

Another three points and another full time professional sccalp for the Fleet, who once again raided deepest Lancashire and came away with full reward. There had been an expectancy within the club that this game would possibly prove to be one of the most difficult of the season, a true test of character and ability. The team came through it with flying colours.

With Roy Essandoh back to looking his most dangerous best and Manny flying at opposing defenders again alongside Moussa who's pace often defies reality, the Fleet are looking a lot more accomplished and often devastatinfg in the way they grind opponents down before hitting them as they are reeling.

Accrington Stanley had anticipated collecting all three points from this home encounter with managerial claims of 'full time training already providing reward'. Andy Ford though, is a shrewd tactician and an even better coach, his side were full value for the three points and showed their keeness to win the game from the outset, attacking at every opportunity and taking control of the midfield and defence.

The only real surprise was that it took 45 minutes for them to open the scoring, a Roy Essandoh shot beating Kennedy in the Stanley goal. Six minutes later and into the second half, Manny Omniyinmi increased their lead with another close range effort. With Moussa continuing to run at the Accrington rearguard the home side struggled to make any real in roads toward the Fleet goal, Paul Wilkerson was not a his busiest.

Further Fleet chances came and went as they controlled much of the open play, however, other than a brief scare on 69 minutes when Smith headed a goal back for Accrington, there was never reallyany real danger of the Kent side losing the lead or the game. An incredible 5 minutes added on time was given, but Fleet conrinued to dictate play right through to the final whistle.

A brilliant performance and outstanding result. Fleet continue to defy the pundits and battle it out with the 'big boys' at the top of the league.

Fleet: Wilkerson, Protheroe, Bouadji, Moore, Skinner, Sidibe (Drury), Saunders, McKimm, Surey, Essandoh, Omniyinmi. Subs - Drury, Mitton, Jackson, Pinnock, Lovell.

Freeloaders?!?!?! confused.gif

The board are the ones who pay for the coach? They pay their money to the club or work for the club, so that they can be directors. So why can't they go on the coach to watch the game???

Just because you dont like the CEO why are you calling the board freeloaders for going on the coach to watch the fleet play, if it wasnt for them there wudnt be a team to watch wud there

UP Da Fleet!

Agreed, but there are some more who go for free on the coach. That wasn't the point I was trying to make I thort employee's wud travel with the club? I don't know the CEO I have never spoke to him but i know plenty who do know him, my point is horses for courses and not fingers in every pie. The board are cool no problem.

Dear Terracelad,

I don't know which Paul Harrison you saw and gleaned so much information from at Accrington but the real Paul Harrison was shopping with his wife many many miles away.

are we sure the match report above is accurate, i was not at the game but that was the first report i have read which has no mention of accy makinbg all the play in the last half hour?? Wheter this was the case or not i do not know as i was not there but surely a true factual representation of the game would be better than what appears to be propaganda??

what do you lot think?

I am the GNFC Paul Harrison, I can confirm I wasn't at the game Saturday. I have no problem with Glenn Aitken, who has been supportive of my role. Also, I have the opportunity to travel on the team coach if I wish to do so. It seems that to me that there is someone making mischief. I love it here and I am NOT going anywhere. As for the website, talks are ongoing for my full editorial control of it, thanks to....Glenn Aitken! Sorry to have upset anyone but the record needs putting straight. Please concentrate on more positive issues as opposed to whether I am shopping in Bluewater or in Accrington. 'The' Paul Harrison

No not yet, but I am in talks with Glenn and the web provider to get something in place as soon as we can. I want, as do the club, to be able to pass on all the news as it literally happens. I have loads of ideas for making it one of the best on the net, I will keep you posted as and when I know something more concrete.

As far as our home matches are concerned I write the reports for Footy Mad. I assume they have similar freelance hacks at all games and that they would provide the away match reports.

Thanks for clearing that up.. I just got confused when the Accy story was by Paul Harrison, who was not there.
