having watched the crawley game with a neutral mate of mine who normally watches prem footy.. he made the observation that the players at this level are very fit these days.. he then went on the say they are possibly too fit for the skill levels they have, hence the 100 mph stuff we tend to see with no one getting a foot on the ball ..

he expected this at div one and even two level but he was surprised at how fast the game was ...

anyone think differently?

The football seems to be quicker this season Canv, but I feel the evening games look faster.

Also, I remember years ago watching West Ham one evening close to the pitch, rather than back up in the stands. When the players were up close, the speed seemed faster. So I wonder if your mate, maybe being nearer the action at our game, experienced a quicker looking game.

 

It certainly has gone up a gear though and not much time to dwell on the ball with one touch being even more effective, if some brute doesn't smack into you that is!
