Let's Support Our Team

We can see already that this is going to be a very hard season and the 9/1 second favs that the bookies made us seems questionable at this stage.

We have no league ground to move into so realistically the championship was never really for the winning this season.

The boys must be finding this extremely tough especially against full time opponents.

As supporters, it is now up to us to do our bit and get behind and encourage the lads, especially at home.

As well as the usual chants from the faithful, we have 3 sides of the ground and should make good use of it.

Let's hear some noise this weekend from the seats, the shelters on the other side and just a bit more from behind the goal.

Want we don't want to hear are any whingers who have a negative effect.

Most of us have played football and realise in our teams that on the field are not of equal ability.

In this highest level of non-league too, there are noticeably better players than others.

It's the slightly weaker players in the team that have to be encouraged the most. If someone is having an off day as well, if we can spur these on then it rubs off on others and the whole team picks up.

Given that our ground is so close to the players, what I would like to see is particularly when the players are nearby to where you are, let's give out words of encouragement and you'll be amazed what effect this has. Just a go on Ben, JK or Greggors etc from the sides does'nt do any harm at all. In fact, makes you feel a bit part of it when you shout it out.

It's so simple, yet so effective, and it's the part we can play in the match.

You've heard and read it so many times from the players and

management to get behind the team. They would not say that if it did not do anything.

The club and players have finally got us into the conf. Now after all this time trying, let's play our part, make it enjoyable for the players and give us something that's worth a goal with the encouragement we can provide.

Cracking post, mate, and true. Believe me, we've been there! This is a hard league, without a doubt, and there's some excellent players out there, probably playing below their true level. But the supporters can, and do make a hell of a difference. Even when we got dicked 4-1 at Barnet recently, we were still out-singing the home supporters at the end and the players responded superbly with two wins on the bounce. Someone recently said we were probably the noisiest supporters in the league at the moment, home & away and we're fourth!!

You've got a good team and they deserve good support. Give it to them.
