I often go onto other club forums but it is usually the team we have just played, or just about to play. Several of us went onto the Grays board around about the 6-0 win, only a few of us went onto the Ford site, etc. I do get a bit uptight on some forums when they refer to my match reports being one sided. I mean, one sided? [color:"blue"] M [color:"yellow"]o [color:"blue"]i [color:"yellow"]?

In general, I see Canvey fans who don't slag off the opposition, who don't gloat when we win (which, let's be fair, is most of the time) and who generally post with a fair degree of respect and decorum. On the Aldershot board after their draw at Maidenhead someone actually commented that they were surprised that the Canvey fans hadn't been on, giving it large.

Having cleaned up our own forum I can honestly say, as a CIFC webmaster, how proud I am of the Yellow Army who do their level best to keep discussion on all the discussion boards at a high level.

Well done lads.

For instance, I've just been on the Boreham Stiff website. There is a nice little debate started off where Tackle1000 asked a perfectly polite question and got a dose of verbal. I've added my own little contribution, let's see how they respond. See it here

Blimey they're not very friendly.

Come on Boreham Wood! Surely you can think up something original rather than telling us to choke on our jellied eels!

Jokes about candy floss, caravans, XR3Is, oil tankers and marrying your cousin are really, really boring.

Try and think of something original but that would be difficult for the average 11 year Boreham Wood fan who probably watches Luton most weeks!

No it's OK I don't want to stoop to their level. I was just making a perceived judgement on how the same old stereotypes keep getting used. Rather sad bunch the Boreham Wood fans. I suppose they don't see much excitement, they were probably just as aggressive when they played 'Shots'. Oh well I suppose they'll all be watching Watford this weekend!

Yes I understand PA - Why they do that I don't know, it is a situation that has got us into trouble in the past. After a lot of work by Merv, we now seem to be getting somewhere with regard our own forum but it only takes a couple of those type of messages elsewhere and we will be off again, with all the hate stuff bombarding our board.

All of us feel from time to time the violent urge to use the words that demand an instant response in even more violent words or feelings
Me? done it been there got the T shirt
The hardest lesson to get across is that you lose, you bring yourself down to the lowest level of intelligence available and worse you tumble to the low level of the idiots you are responding to IE they win, worse still all Canvey fans lose with you
And it should be so easy for the Canvey fans, just talk entertaining football, of all the facts and moans and groans at every club one issue is fact not fiction. Canvey play the most exciting, entertaining week in week out value for money football
Argue entertaining football, argue value for money and you will never be the loser
