Indeed. I always found that several pints of lager, followed by either a kebab or curry or both, then up early the next morning to run at an exceedingly slow pace and eventually throw up in the bushes, was a perfect recipe for success.

Christ knows what Fordy think's he's doing with all this poncy fitness and warmdown rubbish.

He's keeping the players fitness levels up. He's restoring the energy systems that they've used during the match, and ridding their bodies of all of the substances that they have produced expelling that energy which are waste products. If he didn't then it would take them a lot longer to recouver after a match.

Thus the reason that they all drink Lucozade in the bar after the game.

Maybe if Moussa had teamed up with Roy a bit better, then we would have gone in at half time a few goals up instead of at 0-0.

cant we just let them play football without all this lactic acid pish and warm downs. spoils it. I used to hate warm downs. Would sooner have sore legs.

agree Squawk. Warm Downs should consist of 20 roll-ups, a gallon or two of Guinness, and a sesh on the fruit machine. Builds better team spirit than all that "Science Bit".
