CLUB V COUNTRY

CANV EFM

Recommended Posts

Found out last night it was put to FGR that the game have an early kick-off. To which FGR replied fine so long as Canvey put the FGR squad up in a hotel friday night otherwise FGR would have to set off at 5am. Canvey said no so that was that.

Shame as surely having a normal gate of 900ish would have covered the cost of providing a bed for the night, and give everyone the chance to watch both games. I can see a record low attendance around 300 on Saturday.

Could have put them up in a number of Kings Hotels - you know the two wheeled variety at Thorney Bay We know how much the opposition get jealous about them especially the away supporters. Could go all the way and give them B&B - 4 berth caravan and Candy floss for breakfast - ummmmmm- nice......

Can't blame FGR under the circumstances - noticed on other forums that people are moaning at the away sides and why they wouldn't change the K.O. times.

Back to Club V Country - even if there wasn't an international, we wouldn't get 900ish. It would probably be 700ish simlar to the Morecambe game. However, I think your right with the 300 odd mark for Saturday - if the weather holds out.

If its all the away fans that attended the Boro - then thats 150.

If we are looking at a crowd of 300 - then thats half the crowd (god I'm a genius at maths)

Should be able to hear the noise clear across the estuary...........on the other hand the 150 that don't get "emotional" will drag the atmosphere down - party poopers

Was looking at the coral football coupon for this Saturday yesterday and saw that our game had a noon kick off.

Was hoping to read today on here that the time had been changed, but still 3pm.

As well as the match being shown after our game, those not attending will miss out on what should be an interesting open game. Let’s hope FGR don’t come with a draw attitude as they need the points more than us at present.

Also, there is mention that a voucher will be included in the programme for a free kid entry against Leigh. That’s more like it. Would like to see 1 child allowed in for a quid as well in future while we are at it. Be interesting how that might boost attendances and with extra money from all the spin offs with the extra bods around.

Would make a lot of sense to make the ground non-segregated on Saturday. Forest Green won't have many down so it makes sense that both sets of supporters can swap ends at half time. Wonder if there will be any police there? I have been amazed by the amount of police present in and out of the ground this season. Ok we will need the police presense when the likes of Aldershot and Hereford come but do we really need all those police when we play the likes of halifax and Tamworth?

Of the 100ish that went to Stevenage, i reckon there were only about 20 or 30 doing any singing. As for the club/country thing, club first then in the bar for the recording of the England rout of the Welsh. P.S. if anyone in the crowd tommorow, has a radio on, do the rest of us a favour and keep the score to yourselves, so that you don't spoil it for the rest of, who are watching it 'as live' after the game! CHEERS!

Alright, I'm not going to lie here. I had to give this one serious consideration.

I was looking forward to England v Wales for quite a while, but never bothered looking up what date it was on. Now, obviously realising we're playing the same day has made me think.

All my mates work Saturdays, thats my only day off. It'll be boring sitting on my own watching England so I guess I'll go and cheer on the lads with you lot

I won't be staying in the bar after the game, as... Well, I never do, I imagine it'll be pretty crammed and I'm not old enough to get a pint. Oh well!

Just watch the highlights . Do bloody well hope we win this, can't see them shutting up for a good while otherwise .

I too am upset that the game wasn't switched, as I live in Wickford this is the most attractive game of the season for me. Wouldn't playing tonight (Fri) or Sunday afternoon have been the best choice?

Game should definitely not be segregated, we have no troublemakers whatsoever. It's going to look pretty ridiculous keeping 40 or so FGR fans apart from a couple of hundred CI fans! Let's hope the powers that be can see sense.

If you are showing it in the bar afterwards I would love to join you but avoiding the result is going to be more or less inpossible I fear. What with mobile phones and everything, It's going to be like that Likely Lads episode; ("England F"... What could that be? England Four? England Five? England Fail? and so on and so on)
