Head won't ban Conker fights.

Recommended Posts

John Brampston's Headmaster, (J.B School is in Witham) he was speaking on Essex Radio today he says he will not be banning Conkers at School.

I missed the start of the story, so don't know why it was mentioned.

Loved playing with me Conkers. when I was at School.

You trust your mates when they said there's is a nine or whatever. They would then get it smashed to pieces then amazingly had another 9.

Apparently someone has decided that to play conkers you must now wear eye protection goggles. So I guess that as schools can't afford to supply them to the kids they are banning the playing of conkers in school grounds. What a load of cr@p.

I initially thought that when I saw it on the news. However, I can understand the head master insisting on goggles being worn. Today's society is getting more and more litigious and if a child's sight was damaged by a conker piece, what's to stop the parents suing the school? In the piece on the news, the head was actively promoting the kids to play conkers, just with goggles on. No harm in that.
