Famous People from G & N and district

As it's a bit quiet on here...

Which famous people either come from, or currently live in the Gravesend & Northfleet area?

Have you seen any celebrities around town, and do you have an amusing tale to tell about your encounter?

Has the area produced any England or other International footballers?

Any famous drum or spoon players, even? <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Well apparently Roger Moore lived in a nice little village called Shorne in the borough of Gravesham.

Now didn't Dickins live in Gravesend?? He left a great legacy in the estate.

I think he set some of his books about Gravesham (Magwitch and Pip?).

Jimmy Bullard at Wigan, was he a local Lad?

Gravesends a culture Capital mate, I'm surprised you ask.

Jimmy Bullard is not really an England or international footballer though is he?

Dickins lived in Chalk (village) but Rochester play more off that than we do.

Gravesend is fast becoming the capital of chav culture! <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

The Earl of Darnley......lived at Cobham Hall....reputedly he burnt the Cricket Bails(or stump as some stories have it)when hearing England had lost to Austrtalia(in Australia)....Hence the Ashes...I believe the team was Captained by his son. He had signal towers all across the South of England so he could get the news first from the returning team whilst they were still on the Ship!
