Say no to Romford v Enfield T being midweek again

I believe that the logic (no, really, don't laugh) behind it all is that midweek fixtures are, as far as possible, always between the closest clubs. Generally this makes perfect sense, players and supporters have to get home from work and tackle rush hours getting to the home club, get back afterwards and so on.

But of course this assumes that there will be the usual attendance of between 0 and 50. Factors other than these do not seem to have entered anyone's head yet.

Do what? Seems perfectly clear and reasonable to me!

If a league must have midweek fixtures (debatable with only 15 clubs) it is common practice at lower levels to arrange those fixtures between clubs that are geographically close to each other so everyone including players and officials can get there after work. Geddit?

Romford and Town are a slightly unusual case where the crowd would be bigger on a Saturday.

'Ey oop lad! 'As it 'eck as like! I'm joost the same tha' knows!

I'm not going up on to any moors without a hat today, I'm off to watch the mighty Brighouse Town again this afternoon, at home to Heckmondwicke. I expect to get very cold and probably very wet. We beat them 3-0 away a few weeks ago.

We lost 0-1 away to the league leaders last week and need a win today to stay in touch.

A piece of useless information: Holland under-20's trained at St Giles's Road (home of the mighty Brighouse Town) before playing England at Huddersfield last week.

Another piece: Halifax Town train at St Giles's too. Not at the same time, obviously.
