This was on the Dover website;

LEE SHEARER is set to re-join Dover tomorrow night after Gravesend boss Andy Ford agreed to let him go out on loan for a month .

Whites boss Steve Browne said the two club had agreed the deal this morning and Shearer would sign at the Hoverspeed Stadium before training tomorrow.

Shearer was a big favourite at Dover and is expected to go straight into the side at Yeading on Saturday.

Browne said: "This loan move is with a view to making it permanent. Lee is a fine player and I believe will be a big signing for Dover Athletic. Andy Ford has agreed for him to come and we're delighted

"Lee has been keen in coming back to Dover and he will strengthen our defence no end."

Well i heard that there was a verbal confrontation between Lee and Andy, prior to the Exeter match,about this move and Lee did not want to go on loan or leave us, so i wonder whats realy going on. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Lee Shearer's heart is always with Dover and he has been in touch with that club since the summer - trying to get a deal together to re-join them. That is common knowledge in Dover, where all his friends are.

What the hell is going on? He was good enough to play Saturday, so why are we letting him go. Personalities may be involved but that shouldn't come into it. Will be interesting to hear Andy Ford's reason for releasing him. Just hope he's got a class replacement

Certainly Shearer's form doesn't warrant him being loaned out, and going from starting line-up to out on loan in one fell swoop would certainly be unusual. Therefore, on-field matters wouldn't appear to be the reasoning for a loan move (if indeed it is true). But whatever the true reason (and I certainly don't profess to know it), as Gary says, it may well leave us somewhat short at the back.

Very dissappointed that Lee is going, agree it leaves us short at the back,surely an adequate replacement is required.

I realise that up to now it's only a loan deal,but as stated, from first team selection to out on loan seems odd.

No point in asking if the deal becomes permanent whether a fee could be involved as Dover appear to be skint.
