Wilkerson

I hope that Andy Ford takes appropriate action against your goalie for his disappointing theatrics which resulted in a fellow pro being yellow carded for absolutely nothing.first half at shay you looked quite capable of getting a result but after the break you were never in the game.Wilkerson got what he deserved fron the game NOTHINGlets hope he gets his deserts from Ford.

Sorry I was not there but was listening to the Radio Kent (Ok biased I here you say) web commentary. From what the commentators saw, Wilkerson tripped and fell miles away from Mansaram (I believe who was booked) and that the ref and linesmen failed to pick this up. So Wilkerson was blameless and undeserving of all the boos he receieved, whenever he received the ball subsequently. Also it seems that Halifax did their best to get yellow-carded full-back Skinner sent off. Following a warning, he was immediately subsituted. The part-time 'Fleet guys are a bit green when it comes to "professionalism". I am sure those at the game will give their learned views later. I have to admit there is far too much diving, and gamesmanship at this level of football which needs to be stamped out asap.

Sorry, but will have to disagree with the guy on the radio.

Wilkerson was guilty of THE worst dive I have ever seen! His only thought was to try and get Mansaram booked/sent off and any claim to the contrary is as laughable as his theatrics.

G&N were the better team for long spells in the first half but the first goal was always going to be crucial and you didn't make your possession count. 2nd half you didn't really create enough, partly due to our improved performance.

Your full-back could easily have gone off for bringing Mallon down but the ref bottled it a bit. Says a lot that he was substituted seconds later!

Anyway, best of luck for the rest of the season.

Have to agree with Anon, Wilkerson's dive was terrible. If he had only falled over, as your reporter suggested, then your keeper should be even more ashamed for not telling the referee this to try and persuade her from booking our player.

Overall though you look a strong side. Plenty of pace in attack, pretty solid in defence. You deserve the position in the league that you currently have.

All the best.

Get a grip! I was commentating for BBC Radio Kent with Mike Green and when Wilkerson went down we were in hoots of laughter. He had retrieved the ball from Mansaram to take a free kick. The Fleet were a goal behind and he was trying to speed up the tempo and knocked the ball out of Mansaram's hands as he was clearly trying to waste time.

Wilko threw the ball on the deck and hastily moved backward a couple of paces to take the free kick.Unfotunately for the big man as he stepped backwards from the ball he went a over t. It was hilarious, and he was at least three feet away from Mansaram. Alas from where referee Amy Rayner saw the incident it must have looked like Wilko was nudged by Mansaram and the card came out. No fault whatsoever on Wilkerson's part, just a mistake by Mrs Rayner, compounded by thestupidity of her "assistant" on the main stand side of the ground who had a clear view of events from about 10 yards and chose not to give her his opinion.

There was no play acting by Wilkerson to get Mansaram booked - he just had acute embarassment from falling over.

By the way, where was your spectacular view of events from? Mine was on the half way line and unobstructed.

Well then Charles, you have further put shame on the keeper Wilkerson.

As I said in my earlier post, if he was not pushed and was nowhere near Mansaram (the unfortunate one to receive a yellow) why was he not at the referee asking her not to book him and telling her that he had slipped?

Cheating southern twats.

Dont give up your day job Charles.

Could not agree more bubba. If he slipped why did he not point that out to the ref when she was booking flash?

The guy cheated. accept it fleet, the team were being outclassed by the shaymen so he tried to gain an unfair advantage.

As for your number 3 he should have gone for hacking down mallon when he beat him for pace as he was already on a yellow.

Its not sour grapes. It is fair to have disappointment after a player of ours was booked for an incident which he wasnt even involved in. As I have said, if the keeper did fall why didnt he have words with the ref instead of allowing the booking to go ahead.

Have no problem with you as a team though. As I said you are a solid and strong side and deserve to be where you are.

Mr Webster, mine was from directly in front of you. You are right the keeper was at least 3 feet away from Mansaram when he went over ( Dived? Fell? who knows? ) yes the lino was only a few feet away and should have spoken to the ref, But then so should have the keeper if he tripped himself up instead of allowing a fellow pro to be booked. I know from your facial expessions what you thought about the performance of the officials, especially some of the offside calls from the linesman on the stand side.

Still, a good performance from your lot in the first half, but I think we bossed it in the second, when we started to play football.

As FF points out, Mansaram was booked for persistent infringement. But surely if the referee considered the incident an 'infringement' just like those that went before, she must have been acknowledging that she believed that Mansaram had pushed Wilkerson - surely a sending off offence. Whether Wilko was pushed or not (which appears not to be the case, given the evidence of both sets of fans on here), surely a yellow card is the wrong action in this case - it's either a dismissal or nothing.

I'm generally in agreement with what has been said by Halifax fans above - Skinner should really have been shown a second yellow for his foul on Mallon, and while the first half was fairly even, Halifax deserved to win on their second half showing. They headed one wide from only a few yards out in the second half, which really should have been 2-0, and Wilkerson made a good one-on-one save from Mansaram straight after the goal. They defended well, while our second half display was pretty turgid, with lots of misplaced passes, and no close efforts on goal except one from Moussa, and that was deflected. In fact, we only came really close once, when Macca struck the post from just outside the box in the first half.

Ryan Mallon is really proving to be our nemesis in the Conference - he's scored against us four times now, three times for Halifax and once for Scarborough, and in each of these games, we've lost by the odd goal.

Porter went off injured at half-time, and with Shearer loaned out, our defence is a real concern for the Hornchurch match.

P.S. Because of Halifax's blue shirts and white shorts, our lads sported a fetching ensemble of red shirts, green shorts and red socks yesterday - looks like they may have to use the same 'colourful' combination at Carlisle next year.

See my post on Conf Guide which answers your ridiculous post.

It was so ridiculous that you said 'A good point about the offside'!!!!!

Extending it further, every freekick, corner, throw-in given incorrectly - does this bloke expect a player to confess all to the ref everytime a mistake is made?
