Aldershot Game

The build up starts.

Wonder what reception Mr Miller will receive when he has the ball!! Dom too will be returning to old pastures.

This will be an extremely hard tie with just the quality of the finishing perhaps the diff. Their purchase of Crittenden was a good one.

From two seasons ago, remember they were fast and good in the tackle with two quick un’s up front. That kind of football stood them in good stead last season with a play off final place.

It should be a close game though, although we will need to stay tight and not back off as we did in defence 2 seasons ago.

Originally in the pre-season the shots were raving about Mr Miller - but this seems to have cooled a little. He played against us with Grays and I'm sure he will shrug off any insults aimed at him by the Gulls fans. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bawling.gif" alt="" />

I was speaking to a Shots fan I know about Dominic. He siad he was outstanding last season, so I presume there may still be a little respect for Dom. Up until Friday night we had the third tightest defence in the league and Dom has contributed towards this. (Who would have thought Canvey having a tight defence!!)

From what I can gather I think they feel they still have a few players who are under achieving and this is mingled with injuries.

I think it should be a tight game - C'mon you Yellows.........

I take it Dom is playing well then? He'll get loads of respect on Saturday, one of the best defenders seen at the Rec in recent times. Adam has been frustrating this season, he had a brilliant pre-season but hasn't re-produced it yet in the league. Perhaps he'll start on Saturday! We have a striker problem at the moment but hopefully Sills will be back. Have a safe trip!

Yep, Dom is playing well IMHO.

First proper game that I saw him play in was away to Scarborough and a couple of times when he was fouled, but didn't go down, he sort of stopped and was waiting for the whistle - confused the hell out of me as I was expecting a very good, experienced Conference defender. He also did a couple of howlers at York.

But I suppose these stand out because generally he does the business and does it rather well I think. Seems to get on well with our keeper Danny Potter who manages his area very well, bit like Nikki Bull.

Anyway - injured shots strikers against excellent ex-shots defender = no goals. Which means a Canvey win. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

1-0 to Canvey. C'mon you Yellows.......

Dom was our biggest loss through going F/T and we are missing him this season!

We are plagued by key injuries too, or I think we'd be very close to Barnet! Especially when you see all the leads we've blown!

Always great games v Canvey! Good to see you in the Conf, will be a close game on Saturday.
