So, I take it that EFC don't want to re-connect with the 'missing' fans that all the fuss was made about on the occasion the two clubs met. Or perhaps they weren't theirs to claim after all?

I can't see that the issue of gate receipts is insurmountable; and certainly insignificant in comparison to the opportunity to begin to build bridges that playing the game in the Borough would bring EFC.

Their choice. Their loss.

No-one was forced Lovely Stuff you all chose to leave. Ever heard of the Last Supper? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

If you can pull yourself away from Sky Sports Sunday 12th take a look at the programme- have a look at the Honours Won- guess what? it's the SAME club! Have a look at the badge on the shirt- It's the ENFIELD badge! And u think that EFC aren't making efforts to return to Enfield permanently you are very very wrong. If you think that we are happy to be messing around in Isthmian 2 again you are mistaken. So I'm sorry you can dress it up how you like but you ain't fooling anyone with this not the same club nonsense.

But of course you can repent...go on you know it makes sense. Don't put all your faith in Bryant & co. or you'll end up disappointed. You mark my words...

The difference is that ETFC are sustainable in the long term. The board at EFC have had to put their hands deep in their pockets to maintain the level you are at now. Will they be prepared to do that season after season,or CAN they.? A club attracting less than 100 fans and having to pay rent on a ground and recieving no bar income will ALWAYS need a board of directors prepared to stump up fairly large sums of money each season.I hope your current board are willing (or able) to finance the club longterm.
I myself will not take the risk of relying on individual board members again, regarding the future of the club i support .Once bitten, and all that.At my club,i am safe in the knowledge that its future survival doesn't rely on one person or even 3 or 4 people on the board. It doesn't rely on people putting money into the club OR taking it out.I as a supporter can vote every season for who i want to represent my club at boardroom level.I prefure to follow a team playing and representing my home town, and the future of that team will never be put at risk by the ego's of 'business men'.

MK.I admire you for sticking with EFC and i'm sure youv'e never regretted doing so. I've never regretted forming ETFC (although i'm sad that what we all had at EFC for so many years has been taken away from ALL of us .).....Lets agree to disagree.

I still think there is a hope that in the future we still may all end up following the same ENFIELD.It may be 10-20 years away. But i reckon it will happen one day.

I think you'll find the future of etfc very much depended on the generousity of one person,(costas business) and etfc certainly dont get any income from the bar at brimsdown. And if etfc are to progress to a higher level then a commercial bankroller will have to come into the club at some stage.ETFC has been very well run and set up but still has no home of its own and I suspect EFC are just as much entitled to bid for the Q E 2 stadium as much as town are .It would be Interesting if enfield council said to both parties theres the stadium now get on with it ,But some thing tells me the squabbling will reach a new height then .

And why should we not put faith in the committee of ETFC? Can they bleed the club dry-no. Can they sell off the ground for redevelopment-no. Do they care about the future of football in the Borough-yes.

I'm sorry MK, but over recent years EFC fans have voted with their feet. Many to ETFC, and many elsewhere. It seems to me that the majority don't believe it is the same club or they would have followed, pied piper like, around the variety of grounds played at. Yes, of course, Ware offers more stability-but the fans haven't come back. What does that imply?

Topgun. Its possible to climb the ladder up to the Ryman premier (or higher) WITHOUT a 'Bankroller' .At least half of the clubs in the Ryman premier are run on a shoestring. Ask Cheshunt. Yes to compete at conference level,a lot more money is required. But i still say that regular gates of 1000 (and bar income) could see a well run club compete at the highest level of non-league football, without the need for a suggardaddy.

And what Grand Larceny are the ETFC Committee hatching then, MK?

I notice none of them getting rich at other people's expense, doing dodgy property deals with the Council. And they have the audacity to attend matches.

All a bit boring really.

Still, no doubt you know something we don't!

For God's sake can everyone get a life and stop the slagging matches. Fact, ETFC have a bigger fan base and play in the borough. However, fact EFC have got rid of the scummy bast**d and have gone their own way. We both have different constitutions and neither set of fans seem to want to merge so let's get on with it. Let's enjoy the game (that I cannot go to as I have to take my lovely little cherubs to see Father Christmas in Lapland on that day) and let the best team win (oh, by the way, that's Town) and make it a day to remember. By the way, if anyone fancies a trip to Lapland on that day (with my wife and kids then send me a pm).
