Please accept a sincere apology from a true Halifax Town fan for the monkey chants by a small minority of dickheads at the Shay yesterday.

As you may or may not know the BNP has got two seats on the council in Calderdale and there are a few more dotted around in neighbouring Burnley, Keighley and Cleakheaton. As a result they seem to feel they have a degree of acceptibility around here and they have come out more overtly recently. Like most northern towns we have a large asian population of about 10,000 and they play on this to rabble rouse and whip up antagonism that normal people don't want.

I know quite a few of the ones concerned (not as friends I hasten to add!) and they have watched Town for many years so they aren't really a new phenomena but I imagine Leeds and Bradford doing fairly badly and us doing well has seen a few of the Ointment and the Leeds Service Crew joining in with the existing braindeads.

They were out in force against Chester last week as well. I advised a Chester fan in colours to transfer to the away end and I almost certainly saved him from a good hiding as they tried to get in the Chester end and in one case succeeded. They also got in the away end against Hereford last year. Pre-season games against Burnley and Huddersfield have also been cancelled due to disorder in the town before and after the games.

Have to say that lad of yours who came to confront them was a plucky kid but also insane. They are a very unpleasant set of hooligans and he would have been in big trouble if they got to him. I've seen these yobs in action and it wasn't pleasant.

Anyway rest assured that no true Town fans condone or support those BNP supporters and I hope you don't tar us all with the same brush. Just a few thich northerners among over 1400 normal ones!

By the way did any of you see anyone with whippets or racing pigeons as I'm told we all have them up here, whenever I'm down South.

Must admit I couldn't make the Halifax game - in some repects I'm glad.

I don't think anyone would blame the "normal" honest Halifax supporter. Seems like a minority - isn't it always? and a lack of interest from stewards who probably don't need the aggrevation and turn a blind eye.

The Conference seems to be two tier - ex league and "others". This is both playing and support.

It's typical for an ex league side in the Conf to have police, segregation, no access to opposition club house etc. and it doesn't distinguish between the "nutters" and the honest fan.

Our next home game is with Farnborough who we played earlier in the year. There was no segregation, the club house was open and we were allowed to stand behind either goal during the game - no arrests, violence or extreme chanting - just football. We had the same away at Northwich and Accrington and possibly some others that I have forgotten.

Thing is, you will probably never experience that as a Halifax fan or it will only be limited........ <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" />

This is part of the problem for us. At home the police are very strict with us because they have seen it all before and away from home we are usually greeted with a huge police presence, video vans and dogs. Chester and Doncaster away last year were unbelievable. It's not that I mind for myself I can look after myself if the need arose but it puts me off taking my girlfriend who thinks it will be a civilised exercise and comes wearing whatever she's just bought at Harvey Nichols!! It kinda looks out of place in those situations and I worry for her well-being.

every Halifax fan I physically spoke to was nice and polite and were as horrified by the behavior of a very small section of the crowd as the Canvey fans and players obviously were.

this is the trouble whenever the BNP get their nasty little hands on anything. they pray on the disillusioned and push them into beliefs that any mildly intelligent person would know are ludicrous.

its hard to believe that in this day and age that people still fall for this crap, its even harder to believe that your stewards did absolutely nothing about it.

I doubt if anyone at the club feels that this behavior is a good representation of Halifax fans (or of the way Canvey fans normally behave) but it cant help but harm the reputation of what seemed to be a nice club

I did hear a group of Halifax fans got banned from the ground after trouble last season. I seem to remember hearing something about the Dagenham supporters coach having a brick thrown throught the window at Halifax last season. It's such a shame as it's alway a small minority of morons who spoil it for the others.

Why delete this message? I am just saying that there is nothing wrong with the BNP (a legal political party). i have not racially abused anyone or condoned racial abuse. I'm just saying that I agree with the BNP and wish them every success in coming years.
What will deleting this message achive? Will it stop me going to Canvey matches? No. Will it make me stop supporting the BNP? No. So why bother.

Maybe because your opinion isn't wanted here, I'm guessing you're 14 or under and think it's actually "cool" to support racism. (The only reason people support the BNP in the first place, from what I can see?)

Why don't you go on to a BNP forum and chat with all the little kiddies there? I'm sure they'll appreciate your opinion a lot more...

Fourteen year old’s? Firstly as your aware fourteen year old’s aren’t allowed to vote so the millions or so who voted for them in the European Elections last year must have come from somewhere else.

Fastest growing political party in Europe pal so get used to it.

It’s not racism, it’s about reality. You lot might want to sit back and do nothing while were flooded by bogus asylum seekers and political correctness, whilst crime figures go up, and education standards go down. Do I need to mention the state of the NHS?

Listen, kid yourself all you want that a vote for Labour or Conservative count because they don’t. It’s just a vote for another four years of failure. Want your children and grand-=children to grow up being the only white kid in the class? Not to know when St George’s Day is but know everything there is to know about Ramadan on whatever? Fine then vote Labour.

Like I said I’m a BNP member and proud, and I’ve every right to attend Canvey matches as any of you.

Please keep this as a football forum and not get involved in politics.

I am sure Dom, Jnr, Minton and co are really proud of you at this moment, while we are at it Ollie does not sound English. Boylan, Wardy, Keeling JK are all not of English decent, everyones a Celt.

If we kicked all the non English out of Canvey, I think that leaves Potter in goal and King to pay his wages.

I love the ignorance of these f*ckers. I love the naive stupid belief that they are 'English'. as a country we have been invaded and occupied so many times that you will be hard felt to find a pure English person. the BNP are a bunch of racist tw*ts who are using peoples fears to push their NAZI views. and the unintelligent of the country (proven fact that the BNP has the lowest average IQ of voters) are falling for their fascist ideas.

lets not forget the NAZI's were voted into power and this is an important issue and it is everyone's job to help these people see the hypocrisy of parties like the BNP.

Your talking complete and utter b*llocks and missing the point altogether.

How exactly is it a proven fact that BNP voters have the lowest IQ’s? Where did your ‘source’ come from? You’re lying through your teeth out of sheer desperation and you know it pal. The voters with the lowest IQ’s are the one’s ignoring the lifeline that parties like the BNP are providing them with.

You don’t know what you’re talking about fella? For starters it’s not the English National Party it’s the British National Party. Where did you get this ‘pure English’ nonsense from anyway? Searchlight Magazine? Its nonsense and you know it. Funny thing is people aren’t falling for this anymore.

I’m a normal fella right, goes to work to earn a living. Wants to bring up his children in the best way he can, likes the odd pint or two and to watch football on a Saturday afternoon. Five or Ten years ago people might have believed all this propaganda spouted by the likes of yourself and the government that anyone who supports the BNP are jack boot clad Nazi’s but people are waking up nowadays. What’s wrong with having a bit of pride in your country? What’s wrong with wanting your children to learn about British History at school and respect our culture? Why is it racist to want a sensible debate about the pros and cons of immigration and so on?

Nearly a million voters voted for the BNP in the European Elections last summer. The BNP are the fastest growing political party in Europe. When Labour win another term and drives this country even further down the line of self-destruction what do you think this will mean for the BNP? I’ll tell you what. It will mean another million people disillusioned with the country turning to parties like the BNP.

Ken is spot on. You are the one who has no idea what is going on. I'm not gonna repeat what Ken has said because he has said all that needs to be said. It is true that there is no true 'British' people anymore. (is that better for you?) I personally dont know where to find the information right now but i can be sure Ken is on it.

One little pointer could be looking at people's surnames for a start as they can be traced back through time a a record of what Ken is saying. One example is the name Taylor which is a popular last name in England. But this name came about because foreign refugees came to England and had a name that was not easy to pronounce or spell.
When it came to finding work, these people were asked their profession and were told that they would be known by that instead. Can you guess what profession the guy who ended up with Taylor could have been?

That is a true fact as a large part of my family have that name and we have traced that back. Did you also know that a large portion of British names came from the Scandinavian countries and Poland over the years and went through a similar name changing process?

my source from for the I.q. is from a routers survey (I will dig out the web address), also no one says it is the English Nationalist Party but it is only in England that they are getting votes, and both the Scottish and welsh nationalist parties have done their strongest to separate themselves from the BNP. you may be a normal fella, no one is saying that you aren't but you have mistaken the problems of the country and fallen for people (who probably believe it themselves) who have told lies and blame it on things like immigration. the BNP clame not to be a racist party, yet every policy they have is on race and Nick Griffin, leader of the British National Party, the former Youth BNP leader Mark Collett and BNP’s founder John Tyndall have all been charged under Section 18 of the Public Order Act which outlaws incitement to racial hatred. immigration is a problem that we have a duty to deal with. in the world there are millions of people that need help, they are persecuted and tortured for beliefs that you in your post clame to hold dear, those good British values. your BNP would see these people sent home to certain death. yes I admit that there are people that abuse the system but there are people that abuse the dole system, it doesn't mean you can take it away from everyone. illegal immigrants don't take your money or your houses, they are illegal. they cant sign on or get free houses because they aren't supposed to be here. what we need in this country is better immigration control and not the encouragement of non British to return to their county of origin' (taken from the BNP manifesto) the BNP create fear and hated by targeting the poor and disillusioned. you only have to look at the areas they get their votes, it is the areas of high unemployment, the areas that have been filed by the very poor government we have at the moment (the same way the NAZIs got into power). I genuinely don't know what 'British History' your children aren't being taught. when I was at school I was taught about the wonderful British empire and how great we made the world, I personally am pleased that children are now taught about the atrocities that we as a nation were involved in to increase our power. Im glad that children are taught about a vast amount of cultures and beliefs so they will understand other people as the world becomes a smaller place. there is also nothing wrong with having pride in your country, but don't start thinking that we are better than any other country, we are only different. and the idea of a sensible debate over immigration is important, so why would you want to vote for a party that doesn't want a debate and wants to move straight to 'shipping them home'. please sit down and read the BNP manifesto with an open mind and question the facts they give you. look things up, read things other that tabloid newspapers. the most wonderful thing about this country is that you can believe in what you want. but that privilege comes with the responsibility of looking at all the facts. that is all that is ever asked.
