Our Dodgy Run Since Hallen

Looking back at the results and the dip in form has happened since the Hallen game.

I wonder if that game has done something mentally to the players where we went in at half time at 1-1, nearly went 2-1 down and managed to get some fairly scrappy goals thereafter.

Just don't know what a solution is. We are playing some very good teams every week with no real weaker ones around. We have just got to get ourselves out of this rut, but what do we do? Yes we have had injuries but the squad is fairly strong on the whole and just look at the teams we took points off of before Hallen, quite staggering how it's gone from there.

We can do it again but winning is a nice habit to get into and that's what we have to do.

Any thoughts how we can turn this back round again?

if you look back at out results since hallen and eton manor(4-1 and 6-1) wins both of the games was back to back and both of the teams are way below us we really should not be letting in goals from such teams and thats where the problem is so unless anything changes at the back the results are not goin to change we should be lookin for a clean sheet against farnbro nothin less!!!

No games are easy, but most people would expect us to get a result against Hallen and Eton.

We do seem to have become scrappy in the last few games and discipline seems to have been effected.

I firmly believe that we have a lot of talented players at the club, its getting the "individual" talents to work as an effective team. I think injuries and suspensions have rocked the side and we haven't had the same line up in a game for quite some time - at the beginning of the season everyone carps on about a squad being able to "gel". I think we have suffered from this a little this season with so many changes forced and unforced - but actually during the season, not just at the start.

I don't think there is a lot we can do - we have talented players who should be professional in their approach, although a confidence boost would probably go a long way.

Hopefully we will get back to winning ways against Farnborough and then a vital couple of games against the Daggers, who I think a lot of people under rate - they did the Shots 3-0.

Although we look at our present position and situation and ask questions about how we can improve - it's amazing how many other clubs are having simlar discussion including managerial changes, players injuries, new signings and tactics - Shots, Gravesend, York and Stevenage for example who were on about it after a couple of weeks <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

The race ain't over yet, all we can do is get behind the lads in every game.

I’m sure when Gravesend won promotion a couple of years back, they had a good start in the conf but then faltered for some reason and just managed to avoid relegation.

It could be that their team then all knew each other, while the Conf teams were still settling around. As the season grew on, once the other conf teams had settled down then results for them were hard to come by.

As we know now, at the present time apart it appears from Leigh, all other teams in this division are a handful.

Perhaps we need to look at things at Gravesend a couple of years back to see what happened and if there is anything we can learn from there.
