Also shocked at hearing this and its confirmed on the site also.

I liked Gavin as he very friendly and always acknowledges us if he is nearby. Can only imagine that his spell on the bench recently has been too much for him, but you just don’t know the reason for this was. He has been strong for us and one of our best players this season.

Whether this is the start of major changes now, we don’t know. Problem is however that we may have to change nearly all the squad at some point to survive in this division, as many of the teams do.

I don’t know why the bubble has burst recently on our “Ryman league team”. Perhaps if you look at the usual players nowadays, then the changes have been too much. No fault of their own but the newer ones in are Sedgemore. McGhee, Joseph, Sterling, Keeling. These players have their own strong points but in some way perhaps their weaker moments have an overall bad effect on the team play. Its really hard to get the mix right, with players around who will tidy up or link up with.

It’s a very deep topic which everyone will have a different opinion on.

maybe we are trying to get all the tall players that can head a ball out so we can lose everything in the air!!!. i am shocked at this news, he's the type of guy we need a both ends and has played some fantastic football, just hope kingy has some justified reasons otherwise he might find some disgruntled fans and players!!

It's a cunning plan - get rid off all the tall players - that way we will have to play to feet!!

Must admit the news did raise an eyebrow.

Generally felt he had played quite well. He did seem to have a dip in form, or confidence, in and around the Northwich game, but up until that point he was holding his own once he got the opportunity.

Would imagine Theobald will get his opportunity on Saturday after Chenners sending off.

Not sure what his (or the clubs) reasons are - I'm sure it will come out in due course - someone who knows someones cat who has a budgie that lives next door, type of thing.

Perhaps he felt that he should not have been dropped for Chenners so quickly and his opportunity had gone for regular first team - any way its all assumptions - wish him all the best - as long as his move doesn't come back and bite us in the [****!!****].

I thought I would do this as anonymous. But Merv will know who I am, I travelled to Aldershot with him on the cup game, he will understand!!

On Tuesday evening as I was entering the ground, young Gavin came storming out, on asking what was wrong, his answer was not very favourable. I knew then that a marriage had come to an end!!
