Enfield bounced back from last mondays defeat at hertford in positive style with a 3-0 win against Ilford this afternoon. Jeff Hammond opened the scoring on 9 mins when he stuck out a leg from a left wing cross to knock the ball home from close range.Ilford came back into the game and should have levelled towards the end of the half when a well placed forward shot well off target . Enfield dominated the last half hour as the squally conditions seemed to bog Ilford down but E's had to wait until the 75th min before Ilford's Darren wiltshire sliced the ball past his own bemused keeper from a right wing cross to make it 2-0.Enfield could have scored another 5 or 6 in the closing minutes and it was no surprize when Danny Jones Hammered in number 3 on 89 mins...... Hertfords defeat at brook house this afternoon has opened up the league and sees Brook House move into contention.

Both teams were luck to have 11 men on the pitch at the end. The behaviour of both teams verged on wreckless and a number of players were subbed on the basis if they weren't they were likely to be sent off. Danny Alleyne was a naughty boy coming on as a sub and being replaced before he was given his marching orders.

Does A_J Hannigan know any other word that doesn't begin with "F".

Referee - What can one say but ESL refs are BETTER! Yes i do believe I said this!

Compo, not so sure I agree with you there. Are you saying that all you want is refs to turn up and send people off?
Yes it probably could of ended as 9 v 9 but surely then you would have said he 'lost it'.
Overall it was very competitive both teams gave it and took it so it was a great battle to watch and a well paid entry fee. Worth every penny.

I dont want players to ballet round each other and not make contact but if someone had gone to hospital injured it would not have been a good start to the new year. It certainly was combative.
