A disgrace?

Sounded like the team were absolutely awful today. Can't really comment because I was not there but for the people who travelled today in appaling conditions, well done to you.

I thought we had seen the last of the embarrassing displays and had turned the corner but maybe I was wrong.

Let's see what happens next week.

Yep you were pretty poor today, we totally dominated the second half, credit to your keeper potter took the banter well from the north stand. Don't think i even saw a shot on goal from you today.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Yeah a couple of tame shots at the very end and maybe one in the first half..however well done to your loyal fans for making such a long trip in terrible weather, and respect to your keeper who took all banter with excellent humor.

All the best for the rest of the season.

Didn't manage to catch any commentary of the game today and it sounds as though they done well to get the game on in Morecambe.

Agree, well done to any of the fans who travelled the long way in such crap conditions and for what looks like such a poor game.

Did catch Glenn's after match interview where he implied that Morecambe adapted to the conditions, played well and beat us in every department, so no complaints, although it did seem as though he wasn't impressed at all by todays performance and capitulation. He didn't seem to blame the lads up front either but commented on lack of creation from the back and midfield. Sounds as though Morecambe could have had more than 4 and their keeper had nothing to do all afternoon.

More worryingly, Greggors went off injured and so did Sterling - presumably replaced by Smith who gave away a penalty - what is it about substitute defenders coming on and giving away penalties

Burton got another result today as did G&N. FGR and York also grabed a point - we drop to 17th.

Glenn was on the radio having a bit of a go. Nobody minds losing but it seemed today the team was not at the races and just didn't compete. Fans have travelled a long way and to see their side play as poorly as that is not good enough. Don't want to moan too much but the result was very poor today.

I am a bit worried about the trip to bath next week in the trophy because of our very poor away form. Does anyone know the team that played today and how long did Boylan get.

Oh ...so it was Boylan on, from the top of the North Stand I couldn't see too well, I was relying on our infamous matchday announcer to inform me of all substitutions.....lol

I'm worried about Bath next week as well. I hear they've signed Darren Caskey who is still a talented player and was doing the business for Hornchurch earlier this season before their money problems.

They might be two divisions below us but they have a decent reputation and get good crowds. This is a tricky tie and I would be happy with a scrappy victory.

your grounds the biggest discrace iv ever seen, how they let u in this league with that is beyond me, how many seats u got 100?

Thank you for your observations although I note that you choose to hide behind the badge of anonymity to make your point. Don’t fully understand why you are making these comments on the Canvey discussion board because, truth is, nobody here gives a to$$ what you think.

Your argument must surely lie with the ground grading committee of the Conference League because they have passed the ground as suitable for the past three seasons, even before we were promoted to the Conference. Have you voiced your concerns with them?

I don’t normally waste my time responding to mindless pap but on this occasion perhaps you should bear in mind that Canvey have had quite a meteoric rise from Essex Senior League to National Conference in a very short space of time. Believe it or not, Park Lane has improved remarkably over the past five years (yes, it was pretty dire before) and there are still more improvements in the pipeline, culminating in a new sports centre at a different location on the island. Perhaps you didn’t realise this when you wrote your worthless comments.

In the meantime, if Park Lane doesn’t suit you, may I respectfully suggest that you don’t bother to come again. Your presence might be missed but somehow, I doubt it.

We obtained results at Scarborough, Carlisle and York (which was our last away point)

I think its just been more notable recently with some of our results including Accy, Halifax and Morecambe. I think I read somewhere that the team travelled on Friday to Morecambe and stopped in the Wigan area - so they should be "fresh" and not to tired. Saying that we've made the short journeys to Aldershot and Woking and lost

I thought we may have struggled defensively when I heard that Dominic was subbed. However, it sounds as though we were run ragged from the off.

Peter Smith certainly seems to be earning himself a reputation - Morecambe reported that he gave the foul away and should have been booked for kicking out at one of their players right in front of the dug out.

a [censored] town aswell four pubs, pathetic!

Click here for details of the 8 places you can buy a drink on the island and the 3 just off the island at Benfleet. This does not include the bars at the rugby club, the cricket club, the golf club, the Concorde Rangers football club, the Paddocks Community Centre, Waterside Farm sports & leisure centre, the Labour club, the Conservative club, the corner club, the bingo club and one or two others I can't recall.

Believe me, no matter how much of a boozer you are, you would NOT be capable of doing a pub/club crawl around the island's many watering holes.
