Daggers game

What a poor performance, I believe there were five players on that park tonight who are not good enough to play at this level and it is sad to admit it because some of those players have done us proud over the years.

JK looked out of sorts slow, easily panicked and not at the races.

Greggors I dont think he won a header was give five yards head start twice and was beaten to the ball by the defender every time.

Theobald did not notice him, play a decent ball all night.

Smithy gave them so much room at the back they should have scored 5.

Junior came on as sub and broke down more of our attacks than they did 1/2 dozen times he asked for it on his head and never made the header.

I will always defend our team but too many times we allowed them to play, they were not very good and a decent team would have scored 8 or 9 the way we played. An on form Canvey would have played them off the park.

We are very good when we get the ball on the floor and knock it around, why oh why do we keep flicking in the air and pumping it high.

When their defenders hook a ball away it goes to our corner flag and Danny has to sprint to get it. When we hook it away we plop down in the middle of their mid field.

We are learning about this league but we should have players who have in their career played at a higher level than this doing better.

For me Ollie, Mario, Keeling, Boylan, Stirling, Duffers, Potter are the making of a team the rest need to look across and ask themselves am I good enough and am I trying hard enough.

Absolute [censored]. There was no passion in the second half whatsoever.

Either some of these players shape up or get out!!

Right so we beat you 3-1 and were Sh*t. Fine call us that but what does it make your conference South standard?

you have to admit that you (d&r) were crap, the fact that you only put 3 past us and we were terrible shows that, and the fact that after we scored it was looking like it was going to be a draw rather than a drubbing shows that you were a poor side. we were terrible and most teams i have seen this season would have put more than 3 past us, but both times we have played you this season you have looked average at best, you were still better than us though last night.

Unfortunately seven of your remaining games are on grass.

Only four more away defeats now to equal the record of 11 in a row. ( See Confguide)

Still maybe even you can't lose at Leigh

that would explain the lack of drainage

Drainage?? A Canvey fan taking the rise out of another club's drainage??

I think you'll find the problem Boxing Day was a bunch of moaning minnie's in yellow not wanting to play in the chilly weather. That and Boylan being almost ready to come back perhaps. I heard he was supposed to be playing yesterday but I didn't see much of him.

Our "Reds v Blues" game on the pitch after you all went home to went ok

Back to the original thread rather than worrying about who will appear in the next issue of drainage weekly.

Wasn't impressed by Daggers last night and I'm sure they have played a lot better in other games this season. Our game was generally poor and Daggers took the chances we created for them.

First half was poor from both sides as the ball was generally hoofed with the odd glimmer of the ball being passed to feet. All the goals appeared to come from defensive errors, although Potter ran off his line after the first one and seemed to be having a go at Keeling - possibly his fault. I prefer Mcghee to Smith unless it comes down to pace. I was watching him on the line when he had his leg in the groin of the Daggers player on the floor with the linesman waving - what worried me was an eventual shot forced a save out of Roberts -If it had gone in it would not have counted. At times his determination sems to be a liability. I can't understand why he slid doing the back pass. Cracking goal by Midgely. Junior must be kicking himself in trying to do a one two when he just need to give the ball a good strike. Would like to see Mario given a longer run out. If you don't take your chances, and Daggers did last night, you'll walk away with nothing and thats what we deserved last night.

I feel that after witnessing most of the games this season and reading that the squad at Crawley has been nearly completely overhauled changes will need to be made. Whether they are sooner or left until next year is a matter for debate - if left I don't think we will have to much to cheer about in the remaining fixtures this season.

Canvey fans like to see a side pass the ball - I began to question last night if we had certain players capable of doing that. The amount of times I counted a ball that went line go off - giving the inititaive away and breaking up any rythm we had.

I would also remove Duffers from your list MOB - he's to inconsistent.

Hopefully we will be back to winning ways at Aylesbury.

Regs,

Still sad & depressed of Canvey
