I happened to notice a similarity to the ETFC and the EFC main pages. You know, the date in blue, a headline underlined and the fixture status underneath. So... I looked at the source code for both and it's the same! I looked back at the ETFC site and noticed that this was the format for all of last season. So Mr EFC webmaster, I think you should give the treble winners a doff of the hat an acknowledge your click and paste prowess.

I'm on about the HTML source code, Rob. That's what web guys use to write their homepages. If you look at the opening page to the Enfield website and then the ETFC one you'll see what I mean. Not sure why Del chose to copy it, as he's actually a clever geezer and could have done something not so glaringly obviously similar.

Thanks for the compliment!

The html code was sort of borrowed - I cut out the crap and reduced it to two columns - as generally speaking I liked the 'crisp' layout.

As I was taught many years ago, a programmers first tool is plagerism (spelling ?) and you then start to make sublte changes.

Talking of flattery, I can name another team that use our colours, half our name, one third of our badge and according to their programme against AFC Wimbledon the other night - which was incidentally AFC's FIRST EVER Win - our history!! Talking of the aforementioned programme, remove the word "town" from all references and you have the Enfield programme from a few seasons ago. Hmm... I wonder who they are??

Q: 'I wonder who they are?'
A: They are the ones who play in Enfield, and have the vast majority of Enfield's support from a few years ago watching them. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/yelrotflmao.gif" alt="" />

Not sure about your references to 'crap' there Derek. I think a better way to put it would be to say the code you might use/not use to your particular taste.

There are many teams that play in white and blue, Derek

We improved it by adding a local twist to it

Your point being?

That's because the printers and people behind it are one and the same. Just be grateful you have a photocopier to do yours.

our history!!

What? put that in a sentence that reads better.

I think you're trying to defend your embarrassment with a string of silly statements young Derek. I'll be looking at your website from now on to point out any other little click n' pastes that you may wish to borrow. Byeeeeeeeee!

derek....i have supported ENFIELD for the last 20 years(without a break),and will support them for the next 20 years....which can't be said for you,or any other of you GOONS,who currently hold positions of power at EFC....like lazarou, you are committed and loyal only to yourself, and will quite happily jump ship, and officiate at another club,if curcumstances change....i see freebirds taken himself off to cheshunt already.....don't forget ,the only reason you hold the position you do is because anyone who had talent or experience at the club left 2 years ago...

You really do have seemed to miss the point of my initial answer so I will try to make it a little clearer!

Virtually, everyone uses snippets of code when doing web sites - there's no point reinventing the wheel - and amends it to their own use which is what I have done. At there end of the day there are only a finite way that something can be coded. As an aside essentially that's all the generator programs are, which I do not use. Why do you think so many sites DO look similar?

You accused me of copying code - I just responded with other examples of where you have copied from ENFIELD FC but apparently that's all right!

I am certainly not embarrassed by borrowing little snippets of code and I'm sure that your real web master would be flattered. (In fact, in the past he has even agreed to it).

BTW. Why not reveal your identity when you knock other people or are you too embarrassed by your comments?

OK. So that puts you as supporting them for nearly as long as I have although, as you quite rightly say, I did have a break.

If you are not happy with the way things are done at the moment, introduce yourself to me at a game and offer your services, instead of trying to belittle those who are trying to keep things going.

Really? I don't remember that Del. Unless you mean the TGTLS News site, but Lee Robson now has ownership of that when he agreed to take over my work.

Derek,

You might as well accuse Enfield FC of using half the name of Enfield Town (the place, not ETFC). So what if the programme looked similar to an EFC one from a couple of seasons ago (you would actually need to make a few more changes than just remove the word "Town"). It was designed by people who used to follow EFC and used to do the same job for them. As for nicking your history, we haven't. Up until the day that we split that is our history as well. Obviously we have totally separate existence and history from just before last season but as our club was borne out of yours, it's pretty obvious that what happened to EFC fans prior to that happened to most of the ETFC fans at the same time. You might as well say that Tony Lazarou's companies have nicked the history of the club run by Tommy Unwin's company and that his nicked the history of the club prior to him taking over in the mid 70s.

And as for AFC Wimbledon's first ever win, so what? They deserved it on the night and have followed it up by winning their first ever league game. And, like us, they have enjoyed the ride so far even though the results didn't all go their way pre-season.

On the subjuect of the same history being used by both clubs.

This was going on for years with the Wingate part of Wingate and Finchley and the Wingate part Leyton Wingte both using the same history up to the split.

There split was differant in the way it was there 1st Team going with Finchley and most of the Reserves going in the end to join Leyton.

Enfield Town and AFC Wimbledon can say they split but claiming the old clubs history not sure about that you normally start again.

As for Tony Lazarou's companies have nicked the history of the club run by Tommy Unwin's company whas your point companies pass hand all the time and the history goes with it.

I have not seen what Enfield Town are using this season but last season there was mentions of the club starting when the trust was formed, correct me if I'm wrong but was the trust not started when you were Enfield fans and the Soicerty started as Enfield Town fans

Who gives a monkeys??? There are now 2 enfield teams one with years and years of history and one with a season of history!! I think this all started when in the afcw prog, there was a refrence of I belive it said "enfield town took 90% of the support and all of its history with it" I dont think so...... the fans yes but not the history! Now stop the bitching and get on with the football season with your OWN club's!!!!
