Ever Changing Squad

Recommended Posts

Both myself and some other posters have mentioned about the number of players we have used this season and the possible effects on our results.

Saw this post on Confguide -

Thought you'd like to know :-

Players used this season (in LEAGUE games only) are:-

Accrington 26

Aldershot 31

Barnet 23

Burton 27

Canvey 27

Carlisle 22

Crawley 30

Dagenham 28

Exeter 25

Farnborough 34

Forest Green40

Gravesend 29

Halifax 31

Hereford 20

Leigh 49

Morecambe 24

Northwich 40

Scarborough 23

Stevenage 33

Tamworth 35

Woking 20

York 30

The Conference record is 52 by Kettering in 92/93.

I'm sure we could all read quite a lot into those stats - most of the clubs in the lower part of the table have used more players than those further up the table who potentially have a settled side - Shots seem to be a bit of an exception, but they had a lot of injury problems around the same time as us.

The one thing it doesn't show is how many combination of players clubs have used - I think we would score quite highly again.

Any thoughts or comments?

I think this demonstrates when things do not work you have to decide do we stay as we are or try to change things.

The question for me is are we better now than last year.

If we are imagine where we would be if we never brought in Sterling, Noto, Keeling, Sedgemore etc.

Could Parms and co have done the job for us.
