FAT - Bishops Stortford 2 - Canvey 1

Pretty [****!!****] result. Glad I didn't go tonight and I'm not going Saturday.

Sounds harsh but in a way I'm glad we're out. We need to concentrate on the league and our Trophy run was going to mean more games being rearranged that ultimately would lead to a backlog.

Looks like our bogey team has come back to haunt us.

Sedgemore scored our goal btw.

Still only one up front. No Mario in starting 11. Rather perplexing.

Wasn't able to make the game tonight due to previous commitments - like Yellow, in a way I'm glad.

Until we get a some response on the forum from those that were able to make it I'll try not to make to many judgements - the official site is dire for info.

I wasn't suprised by the result and wish Bishops Stortford all the best - they will feel pretty confident about facing Gravesend.

I wasn't suprised by the line up either, I'm past being suprised - it just completely stumped me. Perhaps I'm being harsh but how are we judging who should start? is it pick a name out of a hat? By looks of it we have chosen, yet again, a different starting line up thats not been used before this season. I just can't get my head around it - no Noto, no Theobald in Central defence and Boylan a loan striker. Presume we must have used subs.

I'm totally perplexed - I just F***ing hope we sort out a regular squad by the end of the season and all this buggering about with players and formations is experimental for us to hold our ground in the Conference National next year.

We played one up front and had a real off day again.

Stortford played like underdogs, they chased every ball every tackle and closed us down all night they capitalised on every mistake and we did not want it as much as they did.

There was lot of criticism of our line up being negative and the decision to wait until we were 2 - 1 down with three to go, before we decided to change things about.

We played the better football did not get the rub of the green and we did not want it as bad as they did.

I was embaressed by our supporters who at one point started singing were not very good!

I really struggled to understand our tactics and must assume that this trophy is not a priority in Jeffs mind. I hope it is not our way in future to play one up front. We are not good enough to do that and it is not nice to watch.

A couple of defensive errors unsettled us and we played very deep.

What I really struggle with though is those supporters who start getting on each others and the players back. One guy started slagging us of before we started, he is a steward and just moaned the whole game. I ended up moving away from him constatnt moaning.

Minton picked the ball up on the edge of our box sprinted the length of the pitch with it, worked a one two with duffers, it didnt work and we lost possesion. If it came off it would have been class but Mints is obviously still not 100% fit yet.

I could not believe it our supporters started shouting at him and saying "his hearts not in it" he was [****!!****] knackered.

90% of our lot left before the end, and people were making comments about "Kingy cant hack it at this level".

I do not know why they bother.

We have the quitest fans in the league, practicly the worst attendance and almost certainly the most ficle, is it any wonder we are losing games we should have won.

As Deliah would put it where is our 12th man, Lets be avenue.

In summary we should have won and were unlucky, Stortford as the underdogs did to us what we have done to teams higher up for years.

Well! Why dont you tell him, I thought it was not a bad game if we had won 2 -1 instead of losing. I would have said alright not an epic but worth the drive.

This was the comment from one of our guys who was at the game

I went to the match tonight I thought Canvey were awful, their goal was a result of the defence not clearing a free kick properly, and it was hoofed back in to be headed past the keeper.Stortfords first goal was a good one a low volley from the left of the box which whipped past the stationary keeper. Their second was a bit lucky a kick from just outside the area which hit a Canvey player and looped up and over the keeper.I have got to say that Stortford played the long ball all the time and were caught offside all night. If our boys are on form they will have nothing to worry about on the day.

I don't know what's going wrong at the moment, i would love to hear what kingy says to the players to gee them up before the match and at half time, as they never seem to has desire any more, i know non league football is getting better players around, but something has to change, if we want to survive this season without being relegated, then its up to the fans to start singing louder and prouder. and for the players not to start the game with their heads down, but to life them up and be passionate for a win, and i will say it again, it's time for kingy not to play his favourites but to play players that gel together and have the passion and desire for this team to move up the table.

me personally thought we were crying out for a 2nd striker to come on.we were on top in the 2nd half but just lacking pressence up front which burton would of given us.i to was up set with some of our own fans in singing 'were not very good' and they were told to.but now we just have to roll our sleeves up and get something from burton on saturday.

Why have we got Burton if we are not gonna use him? One up front in a big cup replay sounds so negative, especially when we have creativity and firepower on the bench.

It's easy to say that the fans should get behind the players more but it is a vicious circle. You need the players to show a bit more fight which from the sounds of the complaints on this forum, there wasn't and you need a continuous singing support from the fans who dont have the same enthusiasm as they did in our Trophy run of 2001 for example.

I dont care what people think of my views because it is my right to say whatever i am feeling about the club that i love and i personally think and have done for a year now that a more experienced, higher level manager should be brought in at the end of the season and that Kingy should move upstairs. There is no shame in that as Kingy has been a great manager and look at what he has done for the club, but times change and so do circumstances and i feel the team would benefit from that.

I wonder if that was the same 'Steward' that had a go at me at the same ground two seasons ago during a similar Canvey performance for commenting that we should've changed our formation for that game and why do I bother writing anything for our un-official website when I know [****!!****] all about football?

Extremely fickle!!!
