I wonder if that was the same 'Steward' that had a go at me at the same ground two seasons ago during a similar Canvey performance for commenting that we should've changed our formation for that game and why do I bother writing anything for our un-official website when I know [****!!****] all about football?

Extremely fickle!!!

Remember that well Matt. Was standing next to you at the time. That was a horrible evening with fans backbiting at each other, the players, management. What is it about Stortford that brings the worst out in us? I wasn't there last night but I'm sure if I had been I would have added it to my worst moments supporting Canvey. We lost there last year and rememember that 4-0 thrashing? Now that was an ugly night. I seriously hope we avoid them in future! They seem to bring out bad vibes!!

I could not believe it our supporters started shouting at him and saying "his hearts not in it" he was [****!!****] knackered.

90% of our lot left before the end, and people were making comments about "Kingy cant hack it at this level".

I do not know why they bother.

We have the quitest fans in the league, practicly the worst attendance and almost certainly the most ficle, is it any wonder we are losing games we should have won.

As Deliah would put it where is our 12th man, Lets be avenue.

I admit Park Lane has been awfully quiet this season. On Saturday even when we were 2-0 up, there was people moaning. I admit I went off on one in the second half due to sheer frustration but the moaning and whinging has got to ridicolus proportions recently.

It's difficult to get behind the team when you don't think the effort is being put in on the field. Unfortunately the fans seem to be voting with their feet as attendances have not been too good recently and the numbers have been dropping off for away games

Anyone who has played football knows you do not go out there to lose and you certainly do not play just for money.

Often when things are going wrong it is hard to lift yourself that is why it is important for us supporters to get behind them and let them know we are there.

I have never known players not to come over and thank us when we have been loud in our support.

In fact the louder we are the longer they spend applauding us.

If I standing on the line can hear people slagging off the players they can hear it as well.

If I was playing last night I would have told a few so called supporters to [****!!****] off.

Why do these people not go to Kingy and stand in front off him and say, hey Jeff I think you should stop playing this way and do something different. See what happens.

Stewards travelling away from home to moan I dunno why they bother.

I've been supporting Canvey for many years, an the team always played better when the crowd were shouting, singing and screaming. I think that were not providing the encouragment that is so desperately needed. Instead of slating off jeff and the boys why don't we all act like true supporters again and not just glory hunters!

MOB,

I dont think approaching Jeff about tactics would work. He has never seemed like the kind of person you could just approach and start criticising. He would probably either tell ya to Fu*k off, ban ya or get the boys to break your legs at closing time! Unless i've got him wrong, that is?

That was my point, I was sort of saying have the courage to take a chance or shut up.

When Ollie 1st joined he was not getting a lot of football, my son who at the time was 11 and a bit of a fan of Ollies, walked round to Jeff and said Jeff when are you gonna put Ollie on I think he will win us the game, within two minutes Ollie was on.

My point is I could not stand there and slag the team off in a negative way, then go and put the yellow coat on without saying something. If I did not feel safe saying something I would hang up my yellow coat and maybe even move on.

We need to get behind the team or move on.

A positive attitude in making it a discussion would assist rather than "can I critisise you"

Unless of course you know someone prepared to the time and money that Jeff has

I do not believe I could agree with Jeff!s tactic!s at all times but I have loved watching the gung ho attack, attack style of play

He's a big man know and i am a puny being! All he has to do is sit on me!

Seriously know, i and many of us are always behind the team otherwise we would say absolutely nothing at all. Alright, some people moan just for the sake of it and probably couldn't care less but the majority of us do it coz we love the club and it is just a way of expressing that. I dont think it is always negative. A lot of the time, it is just about a disagreement with who starts or why we lose. That is the same for every supporter of every club in the world.

I am not saying we should not have an opinion I always have one and often share it with those around me and often it is different to Jeffs.

However comments I heard at Stortford.

"He has lost it"

"He wont listen"

"He aint got a clue"

"He cant hack at this level"

"Its time he handed the reigns to somone else"

"Why does he play JK he is [****!!****]"

"Its about time Keeling came off"

"Why have we got all these loan players and he has not got the bottle to put them on"

"Any prick with abrain wouldnt put Lee up front on his own"

This aint criticism this is disloyal.

Hiding???? Who's hiding you idiot? I've signed it The Great Eckscape (aka Glen Eckett as it has been for years). Anyway, please don't critise me, I might get offended and you'd hate that to happen.

Wasn't it Voltaire that said something along the lines of "I may not agree with what is being said, but I will defend with my life the right for that person to say it"

We all have different opinions and footie sparks that difference more than most.

At the end of the day we all have a passion for our "club". I don't suppose Jeff gives a monkeys about me or my opinion. Likewise many of the fickled supporters don't give a monkeys what Jeff and co. have done in the past or what his reasons are. Every match day they decide whether to part with their cash or not - thats life.

I feel that as the club has gained success so quickly it raises individuals expectations of the club. Some are happy with what has been achieved, whilst others relate Canvey to a dynamic club, simlar to those in the league, where they can bitch and moan and have the right to do so, forgetting that we are still a part time club. Perhaps this is why I find that those that post on this forum are more moderate but on the terraces the fans are more cynical.

I'm suprised there was any singing at Bishops Stortford anyway - positive or negative.

PS - There were loads of flags at Villa Park yet we don't seem to have any banners or flags when we play away. What happened to "The Rock" flag and others?

PPS - sorry if I'm talking cr@p. I'm tired, it's late and I may have had a shandy to many.
