Enfield 2 clapton 1
E's were without Owen Beale ,Jamie Richards,Michael patrick,& Andre Johnson today
and won in unconvincing fashion this afternoon in the second match against the bottom club in sucessive weeks. Enfield started quite well having three half chances before a fortuous penalty given for a trip on ronnie watson long after the ball had gone. Danny Jones converted to put E's 1-0 up on 20 mins. Enfield then took total command and went 2-0 up when Jeff Hammond Headed in from ronnie watsons cross. Jeff then wasted the first of a sucession of one on ones with clapton keeper Nick Mitchell who was to have an extrordinary afternoon.Greg Howells lob then thumped the clapton crossbar and then somewhat against the run of play clapton pulled a goal back on 45 mins due to complacent defending with the clapton forward running through virtually unchallenged to make it 2-1. The second half saw Jeff Hammond Have 5 one on ones with clapton keeper Nick Mitchell who brilliantly kept them all out and Jeff then missed an open goal when he should have done much better. If that wasn't enough michael deane also messed up another one on one with mitchell And greg Howell also missed an easy chance .A small fracas near the end with the normally cool danny jones getting involved with some of the clapton lads. A poor performance from E's And an excellant display from Nick mitchell who was easily man of the match.
