Too Good to Go Down – Be Very Cautious

Phil Old Boy posting.

Been reading posts recently from other fans saying they believe we are better than a few other teams and won’t go down.

They said this about West Ham a couple of seasons ago and look what happened there. Still went down with 42 points, a record relegation from the Premiership.

At the end of the day it’s the results and points that matters. I mentioned recently that all it would take from the other teams involved in the relegation battle was a couple of influential signings.

FGR have just signed Paul Warhurst and Farnboro, although tonked the other day by Hereford, have recently signed players and perhaps losing just 2-1 to Exeter may be a turning point for them.

We have been fortunate that the bottom teams have been similar recently in their points collected to ours.

In all, I don’t like hearing mentions about “we should be okay”. It’s very dangerous!!

Don't think you can take anything for granted - we must aim to win every game and I'm sure thats what the players and management are looking at. Certainly don't like this looking over the shoulder and hoping as each game passes that others have wasted another opportunity to gain ground on us.

Exeter won't be an easy game but then I feel we have an easier run in after that - we are in the driving seat and it will be down to us if we bugger it all up.

Northwich v FGR looks like a very important game on 5th April - likewise potentially our final game of the season.

Not sure who I would prefer to see win this or whether I'd rather see both teams pick up, for them, a potentially valuable point.

Would like to see us pick up 3 points at Leigh on Tuesday - think that is an important game for us and gives us a great chance of picking up 3 vital points. I would prefer to look at York as a further potential 3 points rather than trying to make up on points not gained at Leigh RMI - however as we all know, nothing is guaranteed.

Some of the officials I've seen this season seem bent enough to me

Anyway, if we are all going to put our minds towards it why not think positive again, just like we did against Carlisle, and go for a 4-1
