Why should a persons passing (even a great man such as the Pope) cause so much grieving. Let us celebrate his life (if it affected you) and remember the good things he did, such as helping destroy Communism with a smlie and a grateful thank you.
I'm sure John Paul would not have wished a billion people to be sad.
