GGGRRR Wristbands

Recommended Posts

I went to see feeder at brixton last night. Very good it was too.

Point of this post is that I was offered a spare ticket early last week. Result.

The guy who offered it to me is a bit of a victim.

I had not seen him since these wristbands became "mainstream"

He had on, one arm only, the "anti-racism", "beat bullying", "livestrong" cancer, and "make poverty gone?"

Now I mentioned he lokoed like a right chief. Stifled guffaws from people nearby etc.

I said to him, ok bean (thats his name) Bullying one.....free. Anti racism, couple of quid jjb. poverty from oxfam.

All good causes and charity cases (except bullying obviously but he aplplied throught the proper channel)

Hopwever he got his yellow one from ebay for £8. What a joke, some punk has ripped him off for it and almost definitely kept the money.

I offerd to give him 2 quid for the yellow one and donate various amounts of money to charity of his choice.

we got to £50 before he protested he looked cool in it and would not sell it.

I rest my case your honour.

On a practical note, surely players should't be allowed to wear these bracelets while playing football. If rings and earings have to be removed or covered up to avoid injury shouldn't these? Serious injuries can be caused by jewellery. I once knew someone who lost most of his finger when a ring he was wearing got caught on a piece of wire attached to a fence that he was jumping over. Probably a rare injury but certainly not impossible. kmj.

Grrrrrr indeed, especially as I see a fella (Eastern European - Albanian) selling 'copies' of these bloody things in the town centre on Saturday (Maidstone).. I 100% believe that the monies collected from selling them WILL NOT be going to charity... I am disgusted at it all... Nuff said, before one of you brand me a racist again..!!!!
