Robert,
I think you were a 'little' harsh! Yes we are a young side, one that is learning all the time, and sometimes the basic things just go out the window.
First the first half hour, although we did not make many chance (nil!!) we competed and made G&N's life difficult. Don't forget that we're talking about the current leaders here. 2-0 at half time was probably the right result.
Looked good at the restart and pulled one back but then committed the ultimate sin of not paying attention and let G&N get another almost from kick off. Heads went down slightly and the more experienced side then dominated.
Regards,
Derek.
PS. If I moan about your comments, do I get the fiver??

For a short report they're both fairly accurate, and don't take it too badly, we've made better sides than yourselves look more ordinary this season, our problem is that we've only done "just enough" before. This result has been threatening for some weeks now and it was unfortunate that you had to walk into it. Watch next Saturday, if we beat Croydon, it'll be 1-0 and there'll be a few more grey hairs on the terraces. I reckon if things improve over the close season with you as they have since we played you at home, I think you'll be there or there abouts next season.

Too many points were dropped in games that were should have won but faltered in the final stages.
I wouldn't worry about doing "just enough" - the sign of a good team is one that can grind out the results even when not playing particularly well. I have no hairs to go grey (apart from my beard) so I'd quite happily take a 1-0 result every week!
Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Maybe a little Derek I was a bit harsh but it was the more older players that didnt have a clue! little Vas for me run his heart out yesterday, I didnt see antone else give as much as him, Yes I think we will improve as a side and I know it will take time but time we dont have! we have already had a 5-0, 5-1 (6-1 I think???) and a 4-0 away to uxbridge the 5-0 and 5-1 (6-1) were leauge games and two of them were/are below us. I know we will get better so come on boys lets have a few more points on the board come sat and a bit more heart!
P.S I will bye you a beer or two sat Derek!
