What has happenend to the Enfield FC Clubcall telephone newsline? It is totally out of date. I always used to phone the line a cople or three times a week to get the match reports and interviews but now it seems it has not been updated all season. Surely the club want the fans to have up to date information on this very useful telephone service???

You just wait, we will soon have a new ground and more supporters, we have even heard some of ETFC supporters saying they will go back soon especially if we have our own ground.
And of course the clubline is not up to date no one can be arsed to do it.
There is always the official website.
That is always up to date, admitidly not right away but the next day it is.

How touchingly naive. He believes what Laz and his cronies tell him despite all the previous evidence.

Just out of interest does this mean a brand new ground or a new groundshare?

If the former, then I'm sorry, but I'll believe it when EFC play the first game there and not before.

1. The clubline people CAN be arsed to do it thank you! there was a bloke doing it last season for a while and then he stoped doing it as someone was unhappy with him doing it!!! others HAVE offered by to no joy!!!
2. The offical website always up to date???? if not the next day!!!!! yer right dont make me chuckle "God" it takes two ta three days for match reports to get up there, the pen pic's of the players are (some of them) one line at most rather than biging the player up, like most club's do and it is said by people that he has nicked ideas from other places, as he cant make his own one up!

God just do all the loyal E's fans a favour and sod off!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shotgun.gif" alt="" />

For some reason the Non League Paper always gets the match report before the website. Why is this? Surely it would be a matter of the guy writing the report giving it to the guy doing the website as well? We need some kind of cooperation at the top so that everyone gets the same information (match reports and club news etc) and can then act on it (update the site, inform the local and national press). As a point of interest, who is our press guy right now?

the guy who dose the match report dose not have to give it to the guy doing the website as they are the same guy but it just takes him 3 days to put it on the website

Derek, I'm not having a go at you , but if its a case of using the same computer to write the report and update the homepage, couldn't you do the one after the other?

Oh I wish it were that easy!

If you get a chance, study all the reports carefully and you will see that they are relatively short (space constraints) and are, apart one or two key situations, brief.

By the time I get home on a Saturday and do all the other bits and pieces I'm usually too knacked to even turn the computer on so it gets left until Sunday (or Wednesday - usually if a Tuesday game) when I can sit down and do the site update.

This week was 'late' (sorry) as work commitments Tuesday, Meeting/Youth team wednesday so the next free evening was thursday when it went up although, to be fair, I did put a three line description on the opening page. Something which will always be done quite quickly after the game so that people can see the result. I'm also looking at one or two other ideas - more to follow (maybe!)

The Clubcall line itself is under review.

What you have to realize is , NLp require reports by 6.00pm on a Saturday and so reports and given to the from notes made during the game.

A bigger report is needed for the local paper or web-sites so you are in effect writing two reports.

A report for the newsline would have to be checked for time as well so as not to make it to long .

With the local paper, NLP and web-sites it would be a good idea to drop the newsline, they cost to much money to the caller and they are getting outdated, communication has moved on.

This is all very sad. Whoever the person masquerading as God is seems to be living in a dreamworld. I do hope he is right that we will soon have a new ground but Laz has so far shown no signs of bringing the Es back to Enfield (I believe he even made a recent enquiry about Waltham Abbey). I for one feel we have waited far too long.

Being a supporter of many years standing, home and away, I would not wish to criticize the likes or Robert G or Derek (neither of whom I know personally) as I do realise they give up a lot of their own time on a part time basis. Mr Lazarou, I fear, takes advantage of the commitment of people like you.

The problem with what was once a top semi-professional outfit is that, whilst other clubs have moved on to become professional, the Es have sadly moved the other way to become a really amateur organisation. That is why we are losing fans that have been committed to this club in many different ways for many years. Somebody asked who the Press Officer is now - if you look at our most recent home programme (an example of what I've been talking about in itself) the answer seems to be nobody. Last year's programme listed Craig Bennison as Vice Chairman & Press Officer - this year, no sign of Mr Bennison or the title of Press Officer. Paul Fisher is now listed as Vice Chairman and Safety Officer. What a shambles for a club supposedly in the leisure industry!

Derek is clearly passed little 'official' information with which to update the website and has to make do with scraps. There was a time when I would have thought Director's comments (as I believe Derek is) would be official in themselves but Mr Lazarou clearly does not grant anyone such powers. If we do still have people working full time at the Office in Edmonton, at cost to the club, it would be interesting to know what they do on behalf of the club as most of the hard work seems to be done by committed supporters, like Larraine Fisher, on a part time basis.

Any official comments?

In the meantime, I shall be venturing to Waltham Abbey this afternoon to watch the Town. I really have had enough of all this.

And we'll see you there - you will be amongst friends.
Many people felt the same as you long, long ago - hence Enfield Town FC being formed. You'll enjoy the experience. Things are more relaxed at ETFC.

Despite all this response to my first post, I have just rung the Clubcall Newsline and it has still not been brought up to date today.
