Hmmm, interesting topic.

Big Tone won't go whilst there is something in it for him. At the moment it isn't a huge drain on his resources, as looking at the quality of players at the club I doubt if the wage bill is that high - might be interesting to ask Adam Gant how his pay at ETFC compares with EFC, if you get my drift.

Tone will always look for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and whilst the possibility of taking the Council to court exists, he won't go. Similarly, relegation would suit his needs perfectly as to meet more relaxed ground criterea a move to a less developed ground (Hertford/Cheshunt/Ware?) would reduce overheads even more. And then, who knows, Cheshunt (for example), has plenty of room to accomodate housing, should the cuckoo in the nest actually take over.

BTW, where is the club playing next season?

As for a merger, no thanks.

Regards

Glyn, its not right that you should judge the quality of the players by the size of the wage bill. What do you expect , premiership quality? There are a lot of talented players in the squad who are proud to represent EFC and ENFIELD,and are not there for the money. There are also those who offer their talent for free in order to help the football team, not anyone esle.

Ok, how would you like the quality of the playing staff judged then, on it's results and league position? Sadly, the club I loved for over 30 years is in a steep downward spiral, and I'm afraid I can't see anything to stop it falling further, can you?

This is all 'allegedly' of course...Lazarou is doing a deal with the Council (a court case hangover from the Southbury sale) on something called 'The Links'. What it is I haven't a clue, but it's worth 4 million quid. The Council have staved off Laz so far thinking he will ditch the Club and the deal won't happen, but he hasn't and the day of reckoning is now nigh. Once the deal is done, EFC will be liberated from its' tormentor. As I say this is all 'allegedly' of course and I could be completely wrong.

Ah the old chestnut of the "Supporters' Link."

As far as I can recall the idea was that when Laz built a new ground he would have first refusal on a unit in the Southbury site to be used as some kind of "supporters' club". Despite not having provided the ground Laz seems to think he should still get that.

Anyway if he gets £4m - which is doubtful to say the least as that was the whole sale proceeds of Southbury Road of which he's already taken about half - how much do you really think EFC will see?

I am a new supporter and watched several games, with the exception of a few most players are playing with passion and determination to win games and have been unlucky with the end results. Remember this is a young team that is definitely gelling and will get results. Only then can we judge them, on their performance. Also when all the other off pitch issues are resolved ( hopefully ) the fan base will grow again and things should improve financially.
Please give these boys a chance to show what they are capable of, If they cant do that then yes they should be judged on that basis only.

All the best

Sorry Forman - the side's not up to it and the club's going down the pan. These two things are not going to improve.

You're a new fan - take some advice from those who've been around enough to know better - get out now while you still have your soul and your sanity intact.

I asked the question on another thread but I'll ask it again now: which four teams are worse than EFC in this league? None at the moment obviously. If EFC aren't going to go down then that needs to have changed by the end of the season. I just can't see anyone worse around, let alone 4 teams. Can you? If so, who is it?

It is almost inevitable that the Es will be relegated. The financing of the club has been declining year on year for a while and I think that the chairman wishes to be in a lower league coz its cheaper.

One might be tempted to hazard that Bin Lazarou would fancy a move to Cheshunt next season, if relegated. A cynic might suggest that there is already a mole on the committee there. However one strongly suspects that the rest of the committee would reject the proposal of such a groundshare. He's queered his pitch at St Albans abd Stortford, so where else?

Back to the merger, it will never happen now. Due to the ETFC constitution, such a proposal would have to be put to the membership, and I am sure that very few of them would vote in favour.

What Mole

I assume you mean Rob Brassett when you say a mole on the Committee. I would point out he is not just on the Committee
but the Football Club Secretary

If you had any idea of the working of Cheshunt Football and Social Club you would know who has the final say on these thing and its not Rob.

I fact as far as who uses the pitch thats down to only one person and its not Rob.

But do you strongly suspect what you said you strongly suspect because it is what you suspect or because it is whay you think other suspect and you are just suspecting it as well.
