Oh well just the double for us this year

Recommended Posts

I love all this gloating by the Grays scum. It's really funny listening to bullsh*t!

I remember us saying we were gonna storm the league and do this and do that. What happened? We struggled in our first season.

Now i'm not saying that you are gonna struggle coz your full time and have that advantage over us, but you are sounding really big headed by saying we beat them 7-0 and we're gonna take over you.

You are taking your recent sucess and comparing it with storming the league. That is just stupid. Week in, week out games against teams is different to one off cup games and i'm afraid you will find out that it will be a fuc*ing hard first season for you. I think your finish around mid-table personally, near us and Dagenham.

It is still a sh*t rule, easily the worst in modern day footy! There was no malice intended in the pitch invasion, it was merely in celebration of winning the prestigious FA Trophy. I was quiet surprised at it myself but was more than happy to join in and see no shame in doing so - lighten up will ya boys?!! What's next....no singing or standing at footy matches?

As for all your Grays slagging....no one has said we're gonna walk the league at all next season. Some of you are just putting words into our mouths. I, along with a lot of other Grays fans will think it will be tough next season and would be more than happy with even challenging for a play off place.

I remember last year there was great big signs up all around Villa Park saying not to go on the pitch at anytime. It is in fact a criminal offence these days.

Clearly most of the people from Grays must unable to read. I think they must be the ones who are sniffing glue.

Just because we invaded the pitch we're a disgrace? Do me a favour!! It was just a bit of harmless fun in celebration of our magnificent achievements this season. No one was hurt and nothing was damaged so what harm's been done? The stewards were happy with how we behaved on the pitch and as soon as they requested we leave, we all did so. All you're doing is trying to pick holes in yet another fantastic achievement by Grays Athletic....shame on you!! The nit-picking is getting very, very boring.

Can understand your point fella. No harm was intended and you were just celebrating a famous victory. You were not intent on causing trouble but it's a prestige cup final and the authorities take a dim view of pitch invasions.

What you do at Bridge Road is up to you but if the game had been at the Millennium Stadium or Wembley you guys would have been in serious trouble.

We've all celebrated exhuberantly on the pitch after a great result (the pitch invasion after Northampton springs to mind) but I would never dream of running on the pitch at a Premiership ground.

Gareth,

No words are being put into your mouths. Grays fans are doing that themselves. But thank you for a decent comment from a Grays fan for a change. That is the first time one of you lot has not gloated about your team or your chances next year.

Personally, i am looking forward to playing you next season because i really think they are gonna be tight games, but am confident we can beat you at Park Lane. Dont want to tempt fate with a prediction at your gaff! Be happy with a draw there actually. As long as we beat the Daggers!

I was not saying we would storm the league at all in any of my posts, I was merly responding to a post of

"I watched the game on Sunday and if you play like that in the conference you will get hammered"

and the

"how many goals did you score in the final"

I agree with Gareth's sentiments that it will be very tough next year.

I have not read one fans comment's saying we will storm the league. I know you would like to say we have said that so you can rub our nose in it if we struggle but the fact is no one has said it.

Fair enough, if some Grays fans have shouted their gobs off about winning the league next year and whatnot (I don't know of anyone though), maybe they can be forgiven, as it's been a rather surreal season for us. No one would've dreamt of winning the double at the beginning of the season and now that we have, everyone is a bit too confident. Surely you all can relate to this having done something very similar last season? No doubt we'll be brought crashing back down to earth next season playing quality opposition (almost) every week.

I must warn you though, we're nothing like the team that you faced 2 seasons ago, we've come on leaps and bounds and the team we now have were assembled to take on the conference.

I also can't wait for the Canvey fixture next season. They're always very passionate affairs and definitely one of the first fixtures I'll look for, assuming that we don't get you for the New Years Day/Boxing Day double header...

No, because Hornchurch were still in business at that time. You did rather get the league handed to you on a plate!

However, success for any Essex team is, in my book, a great success for us all. I look forward to playing you next year and after all, that is the only way to settle any arguments about who is the best, etc., etc.

Good luck next term (but now when you come to Park Lane).

Not bothered personally about the pitch invasion - anyway it wasn't Grays fans it was West Ham fans. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Well done on the double and being the only two Grays fans that haven't got an ego - bet there are a fair few on your forum that have........

You're probably right about that. I hear a few undesirables from The Boleyn have arttached themselves to Grays.
