I think he's trying to impress the townies and get in with them somehow. He might just manage to clean Andy Halls boots , And fetch Mrs Rids Tea & biscuits though. stupid boy.

1.Because he gave as good as he got with the banter at matches & on here.

2.Because he is a quality keeper (certainly above ESL level) which was respected by the Town faithful.

3.Because he is a decent geezer & accepted that over the season the Town pipped them to the title & accepted we deserved it. (something a lot of others could not accept)

I think many years ago his dad was an EFC supporter and like many offspring he followed in dads footsteps and believes like we do that Town are the team to follow now!

BN1 is (mostly) popular with the Towners because:

He's a really good keeper - very short, but does he fly! Cast your minds back 25 years to the days of the Flying Pig (pre-Pape).

He was a good sport in the face of intense banter last season.

He likes the bread pud (well, I'm not entirely sure of this, but if he doesn't then I revise all of the above).

It is! You were one of the most sporting keepers to endure the usual torrent of abuse, so well done, geezer. Even 'Flying Pig' is intended as a compliment! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> "Older" EFC and Town fans will know what I mean.

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />No one would want him in goal for them, he could'nt even catch his breath, he is the original butterfinger's. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laughuncontrollable.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laughuncontrollable.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laughuncontrollable.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/tongue2.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/top.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wavey.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/icon13.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laughuncontrollable.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laughuncontrollable.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laughuncontrollable.gif" alt="" />

Well how can I put this to you skunk head. There are clubs that finish second and get promoted in proper leagues and then theres clubs that finish second in [****!!****] leagues and dont. which one were you. silly boy. AND then again you get clubs who finish 4th in [****!!****] leagues and try to connive their way in to ryman membership. Ask your friends the townies.

I think you'll find that it was the letter from Nick Robinson offering ETFC a place in Ryman II that was at the heart of that particularly bizarre episode. that hardly equals 'connive' in my book.

looking back however, it was probably a blessing for both clubs. If Town had beaten you to a promotion place, I doubt whether your future would have looked too bright!

Always happy to oblige old friends!!

Pots and Kettles come to mind Blade.

The reason EFC came up even though they didn't win their league was there was an exceptional binding deal between the FA and the Ryman for this season to consider 2 teams from Ryman II. I don't believe that the same opportunity will exist for next season. So EFC were just a bit jammy wouldn't you say?

Ilford and Leyton both (formerly from the ESL) winning Ryman II in their first attempt tends to suggest to me that the Essex Senior League was a better standard of football than Ryman II. Pursuing that argument therefore Burnham Ramblers might possibly be a better quality team than Enfield. Why not have a Pre-season friendly to settle the matter I'm sure Burnham would be up for it?

Still the most excellent ESL cannot monopolise all the promotion places so good luck to you! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/chat.gif" alt="" />

Blade you mug. why would i want to play for etfc. for your information i live over an hour away from their ground so i would not fancy doing that every tuesday and thurs nite.

the reason for this post was for a bit of banter and im loving it.

i have enjoyed playing against towners the last two years and have been to watch them play on many occasions including the FA vase game with your good selves. i must say i wasnt particularly impressed with your team!!

the facts are there for all to see....the "mighty" EFC who were so much better then their ETFC counterparts are now merely at the same level. how does that make you all feel? the fans of town will soon realise their goal. being a bigger club then the original Enfield. whoops!!!chin up.

as for a pre season game to settle the dispute im sure the management would relish it, however as you do not own your own ground your going to have to go and ask WARE FC's permission.

so congratulations, you are in the southern league div one level. you got promoted from a second rate league with 8 teams in and you didnt even win it.

Plus His goalkeeping kit has to be seen to be believed.
