it will be zody if the powers that be prevent half of it being nicked by despot dictators as indeed happened with live aid....twice.....

geldorf is good at all the hype but very parsiminous with the facts...

there'll be a good few tin pot spaggetti clad meglomaniacal despots ordering new personalised 747's on the strength of this little lot tonight I can tell you.....

as to the agendas of those taking part....well a good few of 'em will be genuine but certainly all of them will have their eyes on the world wide record sales that the exposure will bring....

wonder how much of those increased royalties will get sent to the starving kids in africa...

sorry to be a cynic mate but I've seen it all before.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

its a good show though..... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

it's not a money raising venture, merely to raise awareness so we'll see in the next few months whether it works.

BBC1 at 6:30pm - Snoop Dogg asks What's My Motherf*cking name? Such moments are priceless indeed woody

Will it help the rich celebrities clear their minds with guilt you mean? Sure it will, but then if your that [****!!****] rich you don't have any guilt anyway, so it probably won't have any effect on that side of things.

I'm not sure why rich celebrities should feel guilty, they're no more responsible for world poverty than you or I. They did their bit by putting on the show, if it had been a bunch of well-meaning students organising it no-one would have taken any notice. If nothing else it was great entertainment.

Just heard that the Floyd are donating all profits made from increased sales of their records as a result of Saturday's gig. HMV say that their "greatest hits" album has sales increasing to 1,343%.
Excellent!
If only Queen, U2 et al did that after Live Aid.

News item also says that every performer has had an increase in sales since saturday, except for Pete Doherty - the fella who performed with Elton.

If by success you mean that it will give every African child some clean water to drink then no it won't. If on the other hand you mean that it will give the "artist's" the opportunity to clear their consciences for earning all that money then yes it will.

So you decide!
