Depends on what sport the person like's and what part of the world he comes from.

My 'personal' Legend is Tony Adams

For his Football accomplishments,or for his drinking ones?

Although I didnt like him at the time, I have since enjoyed a good afternoon speaking to him, Ivan Mauger should be on the list. He didnt only set records that are still to be broken in his sport when there was a far higher number of top riders he also changed many things about the way it is run even know and many people outside of the sport knew his name.

If you don't know he was many times speedway world champion.

I think it's pretty ridiculous to try and compare 'legends' of different sports with one another or even players of different periods. I mean, how can you compare Sir Donald Bradman (who should make any list of great sports people) to Michael Jordan or even to a modern day cricketer?
