We must give praise to the emergency services as well. They have implemented their trainig very well, and have done a marvellous job. Maybe the government will now reverse its decision to shut down some fire stations in london.

agreed it's training you never hope to put into practice and when you do it show shows how well people pull together

Kings Cross, Liverpool St, and Victoria overground stations all still closed. Victoria apparently because of another bomb scare. The underground shut off till tomorrow, bus service should resume later today.

More than 33 fatalities, only 4 explosions according to the news conference going on in central London now. They've said people should start making their way home, but they don't want a rush out of London.

Left office 330 - tried Cannon Street - nothing doing so went to Blackfriars, expecting service to Bromley South then chane to Chatham service.

Sat on train 15 mins then they announced it was Ramsgate train fast to Bromley South and then Chatham - was home just after 5 - I certainly wasnt complaining although the guard said after Bromley "Sorry about the shambles of a service tonight" - the shame was the train was all but empty after Bromley though, as obviously noone knew the Ramsgate service was running from Blackfriars.

kmj - you're probably right.

Already various groups are claiming responsibilty - all of them linked in one way or another to Islamic extremists.

Can't help feeling in some way that Blair has blood on his hands yet again. Iraq was a big mistake.

So you think capturing one of the biggest terrorists in the world, and putting a halt to genecide was a big mistake??
I suppose we should have not gone into Afghanistan either after Mr Bin Laden??
Do you not get it?

Are people being bread gutless nowadays or what? The only mistake this country has made is with its relaxed immigration laws – surely nobody can deny that now? Tony Blair admitted that he has no idea how many illegal immigrants and asylum seekers are residing in the UK, so can anyone be certain that that we are not allowing potential terrorist to operate from this country?

By backtracking we’re surrendering to the scum and that’s the last thing that we should be doing.

When did 'capturing one of the biggest terrorists in the world' (I presume you're referring to Osama) happen then?

But how can we be certain that we are not allowing potential terrorists to operate from this country even if there were no-one residing in Britain illegally?

Please do not use this thread for racial hatred.

What on earth are you on about, The guy didn't mention any race, unless of course you consider 'Scum' a race. Get real rd79, and prepare for all the dogooders coming out of the woodwork to protect the perpetrators of this evil deed when, and if they are caught whoever they are

But the government ARE allowing thousands of people to reside in this country illegally – and that’s a fact. Tony Blair admitted himself that he is unsure as to how many illegal immigrants have found their way into the country or how many failed applicants have not returned home. If somebody is residing in Britain illegally then they are breaking the law and in effect are a criminal and should be treated as such – no excuses.

I’ll accept that if the government were to implement such a policy towards illegal immigrants and failed applicants repatriating them immediately then there would be no guarantees that it would have stopped atrocities like the one this morning taking place but it’s a good start and it would make a lot of people feel safer.

Unsurprisingly tonights coach service out of London was cancelled, 'Plan B' is normally tube to Victoria and train to Meopham which was obviously a non-starter so I walked to London Bridge and caught a train to Gravesend.

It was a bit of scrum at the station and standing room only until Abbey Wood but to be honest the journey took me less time than my normal commute and compared to the problems that others faced today it would be churlish to complain about minor inconveniences.

I don't consider myself either a lefty or a dogooder but I do worry that in situations like this it is easy for the hard of thinking to forget that just because some terrorists are muslims that does not mean that all muslims are terrorists.
