£300 K for a HOUSE on Canvey ?

Just about get you a two bay garage around these parts !

How the other half live !

GARDEN included in the £300 K ????????????????????

You'd be lucky to get a window-box included in 'leafy' Dorking.

I wanted to move back to the 'Rock' after being born there and living there for some 25 years but after looking at some fantastic houses/bungalows found the traffic too much of a problem so moved down the road to Benfleet.

However, having said that as some one who works for a council sorting out Housing Benefit I know by the sort of people I see as to the sort of area which you wouldn't like to live in. Try and avoid any estates which are predominately council - most of the area around the churches on the left hand side (as you go onto the Island) and the Link road estate (please note everyone I'm not tarring all the people in these areas with the same brush)

The other area to avoid is the Haven Road area. They are also tring to build a couple more storage tanks there for liquid gas!!

Heard Thorney Bay Road is nice - ask Wayne. He has a lubbly house for sale down there!!

I would suggest somewhere near the road out, no wait, that goes to Basildon...

Sorry but I'm a Billericay fan and it's a legal thing that I have to be nasty about Canvey, as much as if the situation was reversed...

Actually (although it pains me to say it) I have driven round Canvey a few times on business and have to say I've seen a fair few nice houses, and of course it isn't anything like as bad as some of us make it out to be. Hope you find somewhere nice...
