it was a great gesture from him and he is a credit to your club.

i remember a few seasons ago danny was sub and at half time acidently hit a ball in a boys face and made him cry, danny then went to see the boy to make sure he was ok then he gave him his glooves and the boys tears turned into a smile i thought that was a great touch by danny who i think is one of the best keepers in the league

Typical Danny who is my tip for player of the year, providing he cut's out the showing-off from his game, as with Barmby on monday, and when he threw the ball at the ref last season.

He is definately a character and loves the craich with the away fans at home and away which is normally well received, but got his a&se out to a big away support (forgot which game) and upset a few people with young kids.

Brilliant jesture though Dan and long may it continue. I think like you Rich he could become the best in the league.

He is already amongst the best in the league and definitely earned us a few points last season with some superb displays.

And who can forget what he did to the York City Dog!!

Bit of buggering beastiality at half time never hurt anyone - except the dog! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />(or was it a stag?)

He is a great keeper and his approach to the game is refreshing. However, as someone says he needs to be a tad careful with some of his actions especially after what happened against Carlisle - not everyone has a sense of humour, especially linesmen and ref's who have had it removed.

I don`t think there is a better keeper in the Conference at one-on-one situations and his free-kick save at Woking was fantastic. Without him last season we would have been relegated for sure.

If Ash has a good start to the season it will be interesting to see if Danny comes straight back into the team.

Agree, but the only weakness I can see with Danny is set pieces. Not sure if it's sometimes down to the defence not listening though - good example was Telford at home, Conference side whose only chances were from set pieces - and they took them.

However, I'm picking holes and his overall performances are great especially one on ones as you say. Agree that without him we would probably have been relegated and thats not taking anything away from Ash.

Just checked the FA site, looks like Ash is going to be busy as Glen Johnson is suspended for the first reserve game of the season ! Also I see Lee Protheroe is serving a four (!) match ban, I make it he would be back for the game against us (if selected).
