.............. the one and a half hour documentry programme last night on the 60th anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima ?

Very well presented, and it certainly posed some interesting questions.

Discuss........................

I saw the last 10 mins.

It seemed as though the americans on board the airplane/helicopter did not actually want to do it.

Must it admit i got a bit teary eyed when they told the story about the Mother who was helpless to save her child as she was trapped in a building and the flames slowly burnt her.

It's put me off War that's for sure. Might become one of those hippy protesters if only i can learn how to grow my hair like they do...

It's easy woody - Don't get your hair cut for a year.

I think what was more scary was that all that was left of people near the epicentre was a small carbon shadow. I mean how much energy had to have been released to vapourise a person?

Do you think if they'd stayed in the air raid shelters they may have been saved?

they would have either melted as they hid, or just burst into flames. As was said in the program, the heat released near the centre of the blast was hotter than the sun and the firestorm that blew outwards from the blast literally torched everything with 10 km
