Has signed a one year contract. Another decent signing and will add good depth to the defence as he can play right back or centre back. he also played at left back in his debut game for us.

He is only 19 but with experianced players like bimson, wardy & mghee around, im sure the younger players will learne alot from them.

Ive always felt it is important to have young aswell as the old (experianced <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />) to create a good team.

What are people thoughts?

As i said in my other post, i don`t think he`s a first team player yet but he has the potential to become one soon.

I don't know anymore.

I'm completely confused.

I thought we were starting the season with a smaller squad, now with a few exceptions, we could start the season with a brand new team.

I couldn't even give you a starting line up - for that matter I couldn't even tell you who will start up front. Going to be interesting to see what plans Jeff & Glenn have.

As the missus says "I've got a headache and I'm going to bed!" <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Thats what i thought too, us having a smaller squad. We have released 5 and at the mo bought in 5. The good thing about that is that the 5 we have bought in are better than the 5 that we released so the squad has alot more depth which i think is very important just incase we getter another major injury hit season like last year.
Isnt it nice to know if we were to get an injury we can replace him with another quality player in all positions

Do ya think it's a cunning plan by Jeff & Glenn to give them more reasons to keep swapping the squad around week after week.
Keep the fans and the opposition guessing with even more combinations <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Conroy looks like he has alot of talent. Start him out in the reserves and let's see what he can do. The same applies with Tommy Laws.

I think he shows plenty of ability and potential and should thrive on getting first team football. I feel we're moving in the right direction getting in some youth in Ibe and Conroy to go along with Bunce and Bimson. Just look at the players we have brought through before...

what will they learn in the reserves? turning out against essex senior league second string??? Canvey should seriously contemplate entering reserves into capital league, much better standard.

Good point SBE - although possibly impractical.

Saw a post somewhere and it mentioned having Gregory and Hallett on the bench - this was before the signing of Ibe I think.

My initial thought was if you have Greggors on the bench then Hallett will never gain any real experience at this level. You can always go for Greggors experience but Hallett won't progress - especially when he may be needed. He had a few run outs last season and looked out of his depth a touch - more by the speed and physical nature etc. of the game at this level.

We may end up with that old problem of wanting to play regularly or leave and play elsewhere where you get a first team chance and regular run out's.

there was 25 players in the team pic and thats with out wardy i thought we were going for a smaller squad surely our reserves would win the essex senior league if they were in it

Didn't jeff get rid of a few players at the beginning of last season such as Quinn from Sutton.

Perhapes he'll do the same this year and the numbers may be whittled down fairly quickly.

As for winning the Senior League - why not, we've gone a year with no silverware and I'm getting hungry for more success........

Surely you don't mean that Yellow? or are you dropping them as your second club after their demise. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

would never happen, reserve team would not be alowed in the ESL, if they won it they would have to play southern 1 or ryman 1 under the 'reserve' tag? , F.A would never allow it, could go the rout of Barcelona and have a seperate registered 'B' team, the F.A would approve of that!!

King's Lynn and Cambridge City reserves both play in the Ridgeons League. If we were to win it, they'd just allow the second place team up as long as their facilities were up to standard and they'd applied to join a higher league.
