A game of two halves saw Enfield succumb to a 3-1 deafeat this afternoon having led through a kevin kilroy header on 13 mins. Waltham forest equalised on 56 mins through a glancing header and three mins later a volley direct from a corner put forest 2-1 up with enfield players all looking at each other. on 90 mins with enfield piling bodies forward we got caught out when one of their forwards got clear and rolled the ball past lee Robinson. E's were never out of the game and could have finished all square with a little more luck. Nick Turner returns to the squad this week and Dave Greenwoods suspension from last season should see e's defence bolstered for tuesdays game v sittingbourne.

Super super super waltham forest!....i think our second goal just blew the wind out of your sails, and your lack of fitness showed. for most of the first half you looked the better side, but once our boys got a bit of confidence, there was only going to be one winner

Strange place is waltham forest, Charging non involved players £6 to get in a bit unusual and not printing enough programmes was even more strange with half our people not getting a programme. A good little away gathering from our lot. The telling factor of this game was forests 10 minute purple patch . Nice barmaid and friendly people here.

the southern league rules state that the only people who are allowd to get in for free are those who are either in the days playing squad, or are commitee members

SFL rules are that the only people who can get in to a game free are named players in the squad for that day (most clubs accept that the players who go into the ground when their manager goes in are the squad and do not normally ask for a list. The only other people who are allowed in are the ten committee members who hold SFL passes with their pictures on. Nothing strange there then.
I would ask you to think about the situation of most small clubs i.e. not enough money coming in to cover the players' wages and expenses or to keep their grounds in good order. Is it right that anyone who is loosly conected with a first team squad get in for nothing? How many should we let in: all the reserves, youth team, players parents, wives, girlfriends, brothers and siters? Where does it stop? The other thing which annoys us is that two of your players tried to get into our friendly against Dagenham by claiming they were Dagenham players. Greg Howell and Al James Hannigan should be ashamed of themselves, especially as when their little scheme was spotted, the person they were with started to insult the guy on the gate.
In all those circumstances, what would your gate charging policy be? I'd be interested in your comments on all the above!

This is as far as I know this is the first time our non involved players have ever been charged to get into a game ,Dont forget this is our first game under the southern league duristiction so perhaps our people assumed the situation was on a par with the ryman league. I do expect players relatives wives girlfriends to pay at the gate so we are in agreement there. As for Al James and Greg I know nothing of this situation so I cant make a comment on that . Can you tell me as to why there wern't nowhere near enough programmes for our supporters for this match ,The only other ground I have come across in this situation is Heybridge Swifts a couple of years back.

No programmes in the board room or dressing room??? You do move in elevated company nowadays Syrup. Were they not selling any at the gate?

Seriously.I think there needs to be clarification of who is allowed in,and who isn't.I think a system of 10 passes for board members and 6 passes for non-playing players, would be fair.Obviously,it should be an offence for anyone apart from a baord member of first team player to use these passes,or for the same pass to be shown by two or more people.

look, we had an average attendance of 68 last year. we were expecting fewer than this. this is why we only printed around 90 programs. about 12 went into the boardrom, 3 to the officials, 1 to the assesor...i dont know about how many the teams got...anyway, that leaves 74 programes...the addendance was only 75, and if those greedy people who baught more than one programme didnt, thered be enough to go round!

i have no problem with non playing players paying but i would expect to see programmes in the dressing and boardroom as it is the norm and what is expected at this level of football

That's fair comment. It was difficult to gauge how many progs to produce. We normally have 50-60 over after every match and it was not easy to find out what sort of away support Enfield have. We'll have to do better next time.

The passes have photos on them so you could not give them to non playing squad members: you'd be making knew ones every week and, in the end there would be loads of them doing the rounds. We put twelve programmes in the boardroom, which is the norm. Maybe some people took more than one!

I think you should ask Mr Hannigan and Mr Howells about the incident on the gate. I thini you will find that the same situation regarding passes exists in the Ryman League. The only difference being that there are no photos on the passes.
Imagine being on the gate and having to engage in a discussion with every person who comes along saying, "I play for the away team so can I come in?" How many do we let in? We ended up signing over 50 players on first team forms last year. Which ones odes the gateman at an away match say no to?

Oh! I left my kit bag at the club as I knew I would not be playing.
We gave out nearly 100 sets of kit, including kit bags, to all our teams this year.

presumably then zola you will be checking on the attendences to make a rough guide as to how many people you will expect for each game and will print sufficient programmes for them.

Expect 150 ETFC fans for example.

Back to my earlier point. The guy on our gate when he did not believe that Mr Howells and Mr Al Hannigan were Dagenham players got a mouthful of abuse.
Why cannot you just accept that the SFL rules allow a certain number of passes with photos for directors / board members. The only other people allowd in free are team officials and that day's playing squad. How many other people would you allow in, who should decide the names of those extra people each week and how is the gateman to know.
On the kit bag idea: by April, how is a gateman going to be able to tell a kitbag used this season to one used last season? Some get in a terrible state.
