It is possable for us to go one week without someone giving Derek hassle, get off his back, and let him do his job, its hard enough already just give it a rest, its getting boring

This is me !! Apart from when I use "Desey" I always use my real name. Unlike many people on this board, I'm not ashamed of my identity. To answer your first question - no I am not starting to lose my rag!

Here's an open offer : instead of moaning when something is not done as quick as you would like..... offer to help! Oh shock horror! That would mean that you would have to use words with more than one syllable!

Oh, by the way, I do have an excuse........ I work (in Croydon!)

There are ALWAYS things that need doing so do it!!

Couldn't wait for Dereks match report eh! Get to the games and see for yourself! There are many people who do more than their share of hard work to keep this club going, trying to please moaners like you who cannot appreciate them. STOP COMPLAINING.

Well, you'll be 'pleased' to know that the site has now been updated.

To answer your question:

1. Goto match and make notes of game. Finished (say) 9:30pm.
2. Got home 12:20ish.
3. Goto bed.
4. 5:30am get up, get ready for work, goto work
5. 6:05pm catch train home from Wallington (between sutton and croydon)
6. 8:25pm get in doors and have something to eat. Deal with EFC correspondence / arrange Youth matches / confirm 1st team games. Support installations for my job and prepare for the next working day.
7. It's now well gone 1:00am and the cycle restarts.

At what point on Tuesday/Wednesday could I have wrote the match report and update all the approprite files for the web?? Oh, I forgot the files etc that are sent to the office for the programme which Ed Penn puts together.

Don't get me wrong I love doing it and dealing with people (even if it is NOT always appreciated) but what I dislike is moaners WHO DO NOTHING!!

Not a bad idea but I don't want to live AND work in Waltham Cross. Anyway, I enjoy my daily trecks to Croydon/Wallington it's such a wonderful place!!

Hey Derek, bet you wish you had my job for home games (from next week)?

1). 9.30pm: leave for home
2). 10.15pm: indoors and get a coffee
3). 10.35pm: load up digital images and download written match report from ETFC Press Officer. Add a bit of HTML and post to website.
4). 10.37pm: feet up with a beer in hand.

That's one of the great things about delegating work ;-)

Seriously though, updating websites can be a thankless task. People only notice when they aren't updated. I'm fortunate that I work locally and have a lot of spare time to run the ETFC website - unlike Derek who seems to live out of his office it seems!

Here is a rare thing from me - a vote of sympathy for mr b.

I know how hard it is to do what you are doing Birdy. Especially at EFC where help is restricted to the few who can be bothered to help and with all the hassle from the armpits of humanity who can't.

I may be glad that I got out but I have a hell of a lot of respect for those who stayed AND WORK.

Thanks for the vote of confidence ... er sympathy Jim!

It is nice to know that although opinions may differ other view points and efforts are respected.

Infact, it's good to see that, apart from a few idiots who insist in leaving derogatory comments, the vicious stuff between the two clubs has almost completely gone. Long may it continue! (Banter no probs!!)

Good Luck for the rest of the season (unless, of course, you meet us in the final of either of the two County Cup competitions!)

BTW. The main site has been updated. I will struggle for Wednesday's fixture though as I will be in Birmingham Thursday/Friday and possibly Saturday depending on how my work goes.

Regards,

Derek
