Colour co-ordination on Tuesday

Wilf

Recommended Posts

Whatever possessed the referee to allow us to play in yellow and blue, while Grays played in...er...blue and yellow???

He wasn't bad overall (no, not you, Bill) but even HE obviously couldn't tell the difference on some occasions, judging by the decisions!

Swap shorts - Canvey....all yellow, GRAYS.....all blue. Or is that too easy???

quite right Wilf, the colour scheme was playing havoc with my eye sight all night ! A few passes went astray didn't they ? reminded me of when I used to play at school and when the colours clashed one side had to go 'skins' ...this was fine in the summer but none to pleasent in January with that wind wiping in off the estuary !!

Still at least we won and sent the 'deserters' back to Grays with the words 'judas' ringing in their ears !!

ps how long has that club shop been a 'megastore' ?? !! goodness me Kingy will be doing franchises next .... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/yelrotflmao.gif" alt="" />

Not the only thing Mr Vosper got wrong on the night. But then, on the other hand, it couldn't have been the easiest of games to control. The Bennett sending off was a dreadful decision and Fiddes really pulled the wool over the ref's eyes. I suppose that's called gamesmanship?

I liked the banner, 'Stimson is a Judus.' Shame about the spelling mistake.

Was Adam Miller actually playing? Like Samson, I guess his strength was all in the hair. Hardly noticed him all night, he was more like Delilah.

Ross Johnson looked good at the back and playing three strikers was a good tactic.

The colour clash last Tuesday is still puzzling me and I know it came as a surprise to many. I mean, how can both teams play in blue and yellow, even if one side has the strip 'in reverse'?

I've been told that Canvey's colours are notified to the opposing clubs well before any game is played, they are also notified in the league handbook. On the basis of that, my understanding is that it would always be the visitors' responsibility to change if necessary.

I can't see why Grays didn't wear their home shirts which are white with blue. This was obviously a ploy by most likely Stimmo who knew the ref would have a bit of difficulty with the contrast!

Well my lovlies, if you're talking colour co-ordination then you're right up my alley - oooh, I should be so lucky.

I shall be wearing my lime-green shell-suit today and just a teeny weeny touch of aubergine eye shadow - just to set it off. I don't know why football teams can't be a little more daring with their colours. Take a few more risks. Nobody plays in jasmine or lavender, they just stick to their boring old blues, reds and yellows.

Give me a wave if you see me.

But then if the ref's got any sense - which Paul Vosper hasn't - then he'll insist that the away side wears another kit, as he as the right to. It happened to us at Chesham a couple of years ago. Our black and blue kit clashed with their traditional blue & purple, so in the second half we'd changed to their away strip (all white).
