Enfield 4 sittingbourne 3
Es started very brightly with jamie Richards rattling steve williams post very early on and were well on top when they went ahead when kevin cooper redirected greg howells shot past the stranded williams on 30 mins .Enfield almost made it two a few mins later when sid nelsons header bounced off the sittingbourne crossbar, Es had a let off in 1st half stoppage time when lee browning missed an open goal for the visitors.
Enfield for reasons unknown decided to slacken off in the second half and it was no excuses when sittingbourne pressure paid off when a trip on their forward resulted in a penalty which was converted on 54 minutes. sittingborne at this stage looked the better side as enfields defence decided to play russian roulette with each other and it wasn't a suprise when one of our boys was robbed of the ball and a sittingbourne forward made no mistake from the resulting cross 1-2 64 mins. Enfields passing was now a shambles and Ronnie Watson then decided to swing his fist at a sittingbourne player resulting in a mass punch up for which Ronnie was deservedly sent off, Strangley enough Enfield actually got going again and then came the moment of the match when jamie Richards let fly from all of 30 yards and the ball screamed into the top corner of steve williams net 2-2 80 minutes, The very next attack saw es sub Jeff Hammond dance his way into the box and bury enfields 3rd on 82 minutes ,incredibly Jeff Hammond then got another chance when he spun round and cracked home number 4 on 87 minutes into the top corner again,At 4-2 Es relaxed and allowed sittingbourne in again when a forward got in behind and slotted past Lee robinson 89 minutes, Enfield managed to hold on for the 7 minutes stoppage time for a memorable first southern league win. Jamie Richards equaliser was well worth the admission fee alone.

See your tactics, which failed on Saturday, managed to bring home the points tonight. Physical play can work but it rarely earns promotion without a bit of skill.

That has got to be the best game of football I have seen for a long while. What a finish and what a strike from jamie and jeff played a blinder when he came on . Well done to both sides for an excellant match. Nice to see mr arkwright and his young lady in tonight.

And we really enjoyed the game, thought the E's deserved the win & played some really good football (Apart from the 15-20 minutes at the start of the second half when they seemed half asleep).
Look forward to seeing them again.

That was a cracking game - 2 top class goals from Jeff Hammond and almost definitely the goal of the season from Ricco. Sound performances from Kilroy and Beale, and Watson was having a great game wide on the right until he was sent off. Now bring on the Wooood. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

There unfortunately is the problem, without the competiveness he wouldn't be the same player, with it he'll pick up too many cards.
