The Officials & Paul McCarthy - Disgraceful!!!

The performance of the match officials and Paul McCarthy was nothing short of disgraceful today! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

As for the scoreline, I honestly feel it's about right. Gravesend did edge it today slightly, but a draw probably would've been more deserved.

Gravesend's penalty was not a penalty! That cheating [****!!****] McCarthy touched the ball first with his fingers. I was closer than the referee!!! He hits the floor first and wins a penalty for tipping the ball towards the goal.

The referee let it go so nothing we could do. Then in the second half McCarthy tries to strangle Jonny Keeling behind the referee's back. The Assistant says he "saw nothing" and it goes un-punished! 1-1 or 2-2 would've been a deserved scoreline.

If the Cameraman above the stand has video evidence, I seriously suggest Jeff lodges a complaint about the officials and McCarthy deserves a suspension.

I bet even the G+N fans has something to say about those officials.

As for the rest of the match I thought it was quite level throughout. We took the lead for a well worked move. Gravesend equalised through that extremely dubious penalty and from them we seemed to have lost an edge.

On the pitch I felt both teams were very even both had excellent chances, both got very frustrated by the officials.

For me Gravesend were better in central midfield whilst we had the better 'Keeper. McKinney was my man of the match today. Pulled off some superb saves in the second half but I knew the in-evitable would come and Gravesend would take the lead. I think everyone could see it as the second half went on.

Boylan, Ibe, McKinney, JK, Duffy, Bimson, Sterling and Keeling all did well again today. It was obvious we tired in the second half. I could see that in Bimson, Tait and Minton.

May I suggest that when taking Sedgemore off, don't put JK in his position. He couldn't win anything in the air, he was closed down by three men everytime - This is where we need Dave McGhee! All three subs seemed to put in the effort. I'd consider starting with all three of them at some point.

I would hope I don't have to witness anything like today's second half again this season.

A small well done to Gravesend though, they looked quicker and fitter when we tired. Probably due to the semi-full-time against the part-timers.

Something seriously has to be done about those officials and McCarthy though! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Poor loser? I don't think so Chav. I just congratulated your team!

I will say again though Paul McCarthy was an absolute cheat! Helped by poor officials. You've only repeated what I said anyway!

Amazing how much the officials missed today.

We were due a load of idiots acting as officials.

As Keeling followed up the ball with the keeper McCarthy came over the top pushing Keeling away and then, it appeared, stuck his forearm over keelings neck pinning him down in some form of headlock. McCarthy obviously missed his vocation as a professional wrestler.....

How do these officials get to work at such a high level? Working at ANY level is a mystery to some I've seen and heard of.

And whatever happened to assistance from the Assistant Referees? They are still just bloody linesmen at the end of the day as they tend to do feck all else.

No Mario again today? I wonder what's going on there. Hope it isn't bad news about an impending move away. Sounds like we could have done with him the same time as Keeling if Mints was tired.

Hopefully the team can just move on for the next match and do any/all of the following

1) Start Keeling.

2) Start Keeling.

3) Play it on the ground. I can't believe I'm hearing that the team is just hoofing it about...again!

4) Only three games into the season and got a good win under our belts. Just play to the teams' strengths and everything will be good.

5) Nearly forgot one. START KEELING!

Notice McCarthy was one of the first to leave when Hornchurch went bust. Sorry the guy is a probably a talented player but he is a cheating [****!!****] as well!!

Officials were poor today but you make your own luck sometimes. I honestly thought before the game that Gravesend were not a bad side and they proved me right today. Still think a draw would have been about right.

I felt the referee was abysmal, and the two linesman didn't have an ounce of bottle between them. The photographer behind the goal second half had clear pictures of McCarthy assaulting Keeling, I hope this is pushed forward to show their incompetence.

All credit to Gravesend though, they bounced back well from the game Tuesday night.

Yes! I completely forgot about him! He was like two feet from the incident. I hope he got shots of everything. Jeff could use more than once source for evidence and then he'd be fu*ked!

THing is with video evidence, etc, has it ever worked for anyone at Conf level? Might be OK for Premiership bigshots, but I recall a couple of red-card incidents we've appealed for in the past that were blatantly wrong decisions, we had vide evidence, and the appeal is turned down.

Say what you like about the officials but we had no formation and no movement off the ball. The bloke next to me kept moaning when McKinney opted for the punt, but as a goalkeeper myself I understand how difficult it can be and how the most important thing is to get the ball as far away from your goal as possible, especially when you can't see a second phase developing from a short or ground clearance because no-one in front of you is moving.

All in all, disappointing after a good start. When we are at home we must beat team that are as poor as Gravesend were today if we are going to improve on last year.

crap Officials or cheats bottom line is we were not good enough today against a far from brilliant gravesend.

the team played like strangers and was it just me or was the atmosphere dead.

such a shame after tuesday its the same as last year 3 games 3 points.

the players need to now what their role is and tell them that boylan is not 6 foot 4
