The Officials & Paul McCarthy - Disgraceful!!!

I dont condone cheating by the way, but I think I would faint with shock if a player at any level openly admitted to being the offender in an incident such as the one we got the penalty for.

If you could guarantee the officials making correct decisions every time, then it would be more likely players were honest, but as it is players know that there will be times they get the benefit of a bad decision and others where it goes against them - as is always said, it tends to even itself out.

You (like us 1st half) persisted in the high ball for much of the game - when you got it down on the ground, you did look fairly slick and Keeling looked dangerous when he came on.

If only you had Robbie Fowler playing for you, he would have admitted it!!!

I agree though, there's no way any player will admit to handling the ball himself should a penalty be earned from the decision, or anywhere else on the pitch for that matter.

The penalty that you were awarded clearly hit McCarthy's hand, but the ref gave the decision against us. I however don't blame him for not admitting this, but by pinning 2ft Jon Keeling to the ground and throttling him was disgraceful.

All Mccarthy did all game was moan and whinge. After nearly throttling Jon Keeling he then proceeded to harangue the ref for giving Canvey a free kick. The guy seems to have a short fuse and is a real liability. Heard a few stories about him when he was at Hornchurch.

He's probably a very good player but in my eyes he didn't go down too well yesterday.

The ref would still give the penalty. A clear example it Paul Koncheskys sending off yesterday. Alan Shearer even said to the ref is wasn't a foul but he still got sent off.

The performance of the match officials and Paul McCarthy was nothing short of disgraceful today! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Gravesend's penalty was not a penalty! That cheating [****!!****] McCarthy touched the ball first with his fingers. I was closer than the referee!!! He hits the floor first and wins a penalty for tipping the ball towards the goal.

The referee let it go so nothing we could do. Then in the second half McCarthy tries to strangle Jonny Keeling behind the referee's back.
If the Cameraman above the stand has video evidence, I seriously suggest Jeff lodges a complaint about the officials and McCarthy deserves a suspension.

I bet even the G+N fans has something to say about those officials.

I would hope I don't have to witness anything like today's second half again this season.

Something seriously has to be done about those officials and McCarthy though! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
