So they let you out then fella? Funny how you are always on here after a bad Canvey result or is it because Gravesend library only opens a certain amount of days?

Gravesend did not cheat as a team. In fact they played quite well if a little boring just like us. The winning goal was superb, something Canvey fans would be ecstatic to have achieved in the manner and time of the game.

Paul McCarthy though as a player WAS a cheat in the way he managed to stay on the pitch.

The Officials, although probably can't be classed as 'cheats' as such, cheated us by awarding the penalty and not 'seeing' anything Paul McCarthy did throughout the game, including the forearm choke hold to Jon Keeling.

I do still maintain that McCarthy should receive at least a three match ban for his antics during the game - Even if the referee or either of his assistants didn't 'see' any of it. I just wish we could prove it so that cheat doesn't do it against other teams and gets what he deserves!

Reading the reports, you probably were a little unlucky with a few decisions, but looking at the bigger picture, these things do balance themselves out over a course of a season. After one year in the Conference you are now discovering just how poor some refs and linos really are!

I have no doubt that Messrs Tait and Boylan will score plenty of goals which the opposition contrue as dubious. That is the way way football is.

Bad luck on Saturday, have a good season, apart from beating us.
