The following is a BBC report, if you know the Arab areas and the continual struggle taking place between fundamentalist and democracy seeking Arabs you will be aware that we have moved Iraq very much closer to civil war

Gunbattles have erupted in the streets of Baghdad after insurgents attacked an Iraqi police patrol.
At least three police officers and two civilians died in the ambush, and dozens more were wounded, police said.

Police sealed off the area and fought running battles with masked insurgents in a crowded area of western Baghdad, witnesses said.

The gunmen used assault rifles and rocket propelled grenades to launch the heaviest close-range attacks in months.

About 40 insurgents could be seen on the streets of the al-Jamia district.
