A year or so ago I was researching governance in World football. I made the following prediction - England will bid for the 2018 World Cup and to secure bid we will sell the independent representation (in terms of the 4 votes Britain has t the FIFA Congress) down the river so as to court votes of the non-European nations.

We will stitch up UEFA and throw away our influence for short-term gain. Mark my words, you heard it hear first.

it's not definate that we will bid for world cup as we wanted the 2012 olympics and wanted to secure that.
