Bad Mannered Footballers

 

Lots of chat in the media reference why? Are footballers (Rooney) not as well mannered as our cricket team or golfers?

Well! They used to be until a man called Don Revie encouraged his players to intimidate referees and linesmen

They would start the intimidation in the tunnel before the game and continue throughout the game

They were the first team to crowd around referees protesting about decisions etc.

 

The Don Revie Leeds team became the most hated side in England but the trend they started rolled on until its as you see it today, we even have managers from last seasons top three clubs attempting to intimidate referees prior to games (in the press conferences)

Do not blame young unsophisticated players like Rooney blame the FA for not having the bottle to stamp on the situation?

You do like apportioning the blame don't you. But I am quite prepared to blame Leeds for almost anything.
