Crowds

Like a lot of people i was shocked by our small crowd yesterday but by the looks of it it`s not just us who are suffering.

There`s a thread on Confguide about an article in todays Observer. The article starts with the low crowds at recent european games and how ticket prices have made people pick which games they will attend rather than go week in week out. Then the writer points out that it costs more to sit in a seat and watch Woking (£14.00) than to sit and watch Juventus (£13.80) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

If Chelsea can`t fill their ground what hope have the rest of us got? Do we lower our prices in the hope of getting more people through the gate but then leaving us with less money to spend on wages which would probably mean playing lower standard football which would again reduce the crowd.

I think there are going to be a few teams from the Conference (and maybe higher) struggling to continue as fulltime clubs if the trend for low crowds continues.

Me I gotta admit, I occassionally only bring 3 when I could bring 6, mainly because of the kids prices.

£11 aint OTT at home.

£15 away + £15 Travel + the boy and his travel we are looking at £60, he aint gonna go without a mate that makes me the boy and a mate away, we are now passing £100.

I honestly could bring 1/2 Doz people a week at least, we are priceing ourselves out of the market.

After all that, I have to admit this week my car was overloaded, if anyone knows any easy way to Canvey from Basildon, I could add 20 to the gate every week.

My boys are fighting for the seats, mind you they spent most of this weeks game looking at the five lovely young women who creeped into the shed in the second half.

I had to hold them back!!!!!!!!!!!

Who were they, if they turn up every week I am gonna have start selling drums and buying minibuses.
